Any here know injection pumps?

So im buying a 15 duramax with 119k on the clock and im concerned about the injection pump being a cp4...im not sure but the sticker on the door says 11/4 so im asumming this is the build date or there another way to find it ? if im right it does not come with the bosch updated ones that come in the 15.5 models now I know there are alot here that do not believe in tuners but I am going to tune it are there any here with ones with or without any issues with their pumps that are over 100K in miles?

Not too worried. Just look to see if you have vent/weep holes if you do there is NOT an issue.

The pump it's self does not catch fire.

Is one of those "couple other" items our water pump that can catch on fire? Has anyone had this fixed yet? I keep getting the no parts available yet story.

I'm a bit disappointed though that you haven't piled on the "GM ifs trucks have weak front ends" because you know, he only got 380k on it and snapped the replacements parts!!

I am his Secretary so I will answer, it's Made In Mexico!

When RAM HD production comes to the US in a couple years he said he will be buying a new RAM with all major components and assembly made in the US.

Personally if given a choice I would pic an assembled truck with all major components from the US instead of a US assembled truck with a Mexican Made engine.

I wouldnt run a tune on a CP4 truck without also adding a lift pump.

Truck is already on its way but as far as the joints , the ones on my last and first truck an 08 ext cab lb with 381k on the original joints with no issues but small amount of play and I just thought it would be a good idea to change them and when I did the new ones failed so im not to worried about joints with just over 100k on em but I will take care of it as the last one I did

And far as another truck the GM product seems to be the best of both worlds far as the big three plus not that it matters but its the quickest and thats stcok too

$1603 cp3 swap kit from Industrial Injection. Iโ€™d think bout it pretty hard for a high mile keeper truck with an early CP4. But thatโ€™s just from reading the Internet. No personal experience.

If you are going to tune it...You may as well install a CP3 pump as well.

With that many miles, the ball joints are probably suspect... Some aftermarket ones can be had real reasonable.

Be a nice truck once you get all your mods done.:B
