Applying WAX to TT

Hello,

I'd like to hear some ideas on HOW you applied wax to your TT??

I've heard others using a sponge mop with a Microfiber cloth wrapped around it..........

Anything will be better than up and down off a step ladder over and over again!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Probably will go with the Meguiar's M5616 Marine/RV Pure Wax

I use this product for my vehicles

It works great so far. You just wash the vehicle first, leave it wet and spray on the diluted product. Then just give it a good rinse and your done. It goes on all the surfaces even plastic and glass. Really beads up the water and no buffing! I am going to use it on my camper as well.

I wash trailer with soap and water, rinse, and then wax with Mothers wash and wax. If it is going to be buffed out, it will not be by me.

I do it twice a year, unless it gets really dirty. Of course I do not live in the hot southern sun either.

Meguiars cleaner wax + elbow. It basically wipes off, no hard buffing.

It's not the putting it on, it's the buffing it off !

I hire it done. Takes 4 guys 3 hours, takes me a week.

I use a Swiffer mop and attach a microfiber towel or a regular hand towel to the holes in the back. An old diaper also works. I used to use NuFinish twice a year to wax the rv, but it was a huge job and very tiring. Now when I wash the rv I spray on Lucas Slick Mist or Turtle Wax 1 Step Wax and Dry. I do the bottom half as high as I can reach and then use the Swiffer to finish off. No more ladders and the spray on products give a great shine. I use them every time I wash and total time for our 25.5 foot rv is about 2 1/2 hours.

First, wax is not necessary for RVs unless it has full body paint. It does make cleaning it easier, though. Since there is so much surface area it can take a long time. Therefore, I recommend something more durable than carnuba paste wax. A synthetic polymer would be better.

I used Nufinish last fall applied with a random orbital buffer/pad as it was the first winter not covered.

I do mine once a year - wash and wax

I use a good paste wax that has carnuba in it.
Either Maguairs or Mothers.
I do a small section at a time, and yes it is up and down the step ladder for me.

It is well worth it as far as I am concerned even though between conditioning the roof, washing and waxing it take two days.

After all it is our home away from home. We snowbird in it for four months every winter

I use an RV Detailer... he does all the work and I pay him. Takes him and his wife 4 hours to wash and wax.

I do this every two years and spend $300. Between waxes all I need to do is rinse off the trailer and it looks as good as new. If it gets dirty like from travel in the rain, I use a long handled soft brush attached to my hose to loosen the dirt.

Meguiars makes quality products. Personally I prefer paste wax. I think it would be more work trying to apply and buff out wax with the setup you are thinking about.

Nothing less that a lot of hand work will do. An orbital buffer really helps, but again that still takes effort to do a quality job. And there is no reason to try a slip shod job when sometime in the future it will come back to bite you in the butt.
