BD20 in 6.7 Cummins

07' Dodge Ram manual says NO fuel over 5 percent Bio-Diesel. Favorite station in SoCal has now put an orange sticker on the pump notifying fuel contains up to 20 percent biodiesel, and have noticed the stickers on a few others recently.

The question is:
What are you other DODGE owners with non-fleet trucks from 2007.5 thru 2013 doing in regards to using this fuel?

What mods have you done to your truck to get by on BD20?
No mods and been using BD20 intermittently for years / or using it all the time? ...wanting to hear from you.

We've fueled up at a few major truck stops where B20 was the only fuel available. Got to wonder what owner/drivers of older 18-wheelers are doing while they're on the road.

If use of B20 was that big of a no-no for pre-2013 Cummins, wouldn't we have heard a rash of horror stories by now?

Based on responses, I guess there aren't many of us left out here with these old fashion 4th gen Dodge trucks... 😞
Not sure on filters that seperate water vs 2 micron particles (on Fleetguard website), but Dodge does it all with one filter. I will look into installing another 2 micron filter assembly and hope for the BD5 not to fade away forever.
So, will a new $60K Dodge turn extinct in 10 years also?

The 2013 trucks have improved filtration to handle the B20

Just confirming, 2013 is the first year RAM had the dual filter setup, with the finer Cummins filter in the engine bay (3micron) and a nice parker racor designed filter setup in the rear. The same guys that make water separators and diesel filters for boats.

The biggest thing to look out for is making sure your fuel system doesn't have any natural rubber hose. Higher concentrations of Biodiesel will eat your rubber hoses and seals. Also, if you ever run B20 for the first time, it'll basically scrape your fuel system clean, and you'll go through fuel filters like crazy at first. Unfortunately, I don't know much about the 2012 and earlier trucks if they all universally had Biodiesel compatible seals and hoses for the fuel system.

Cummins approves the use of up to B20 in the RAM trucks for municipal, government, and commercial fleets only. This applies to selected model year vehicles. Please consult Chrysler for specific requirements and approved vehicle models.

I do know that if you don't drive the truck every day and let it sit for any length of time, like a month or more, B20 is bad ju-ju. B20 has a bad habit of growing algae when it sits (been there and did that) with my farm tractors and pickup and the repairs can be very expensive, not just new fuel filters, but things like injectors and pumps. I stay away from B anything. B stands not for Bio, it' stands for BOGUS.

But you live in Kalifornia so be it as it may, you might be stuck with it. Guess maybe it's rime to move elsewhere....
