Bigfoot, Northern Lite Dinette Bed Size

My wife and I are looking at used versions of these brands and I'm trying to learn which models of each brand will have larger dinette beds. Sometimes our son, who's about 5' 7" tall, will be joining us and I want to make sure that he can sleep at least semi-comfortably. I have called both of these companies but haven't got a straight answer. I've only walked thru one, a NL 9-6, and that face-to-face dinette is only big enough for smaller kids so It won't work for us.

What models would have larger dinettes? Are the U-shaped dinettes somewhat longer? From the photos I've seen it looks like that is the case.

I live in Alaska and these brands of RV's are super rare here so I'm pretty much forced to shop online only.

Thanks for any advice you have...

Dave

My Bigfoot 9.6 dinette bed is 68.5 inches long by 40 inches wide. My son is 5'7" and has no problems sleeping on it, sometimes at a bit of a angle.

The NL 9'6" QSE spec for the dinette bed is 37"x74". I previously measured my NL and can confirm 74" (6'2") long, but I recall the sleepable width being a few inches under 37". These measurements assume the back rests are relocated to fill out the mattress, so we're talking 74" hard wall to hard wall.

Hey Dave, I'm just down the road from you in Sterling. I just bought a 2000 Bigfoot 9.6 and drove it up the highway from CO Springs. I know someone between Sterling and Soldotna with a Northern Lite for sale. A 2002, for last I heard $10500. Don't know much more about it though. You just missed a 1999 Bigfoot that sold for $4850 on the peninsula. Make sure you have your craigslist e-mail search notifications turned on.

I have owned both 9.6 and 10.4 Bigfoot...the 9.6 has a wider dinette table front to back, and seats 4 adults with wet bath aft of that. The 10.4 has a narrower table front to back, and dinette table is angled to seat only 3 adults.... 2 forward, one aft.
10.6 has same dinette size as 9.6
10.4 bathroom is forward. It is dry bath and has roomy bathroom sink countertop using up some of the length. Angled dinette gives more floor space in front of galley sink area.

^^ What he said. I've also owned both a 9.6 and a 10.4. Looked for a long time for the 10.4. It has a smaller dinette (really a bit too small, if you are tall) but the arrangement is very nice - stall shower and rear dinette with a 180 degree view through the windows. For 2 the 10.4 works well. If the dinette was routinely used for sleeping by any other than children, the 10.6 or 9.6 is probably a better option.

Look at the floor plans on Bigfoot.com or read the recent review on truckcamper.com.
I wish I could have found a used 10.4 that was in as good a shape as my 9.4. Used Bigfoot is a small market.

The Bigfoot 10.4 has a particularly small dinette. The 9.6 is bigger but not palatial for sure.

The dinette in the Bigfoot 25C10.4 makes into a bed just 66" long. It is 38" wide at one end but only 30" wide at the other end. I'm about the same height as your son and have slept on it a couple times but have to lay diagonally. Even then it's tight.

Cant help you on the Bigfoots, but for the Northern lites go to their website. Scroll down and you can pick the current and many past years online brochures. In those brochures under camper specs the dinette bed sizes are listed for all models.

I think I measured mine for somebody not too long ago. If you can't find that post, and I couldn't, I'll measure mine again tomorrow.
I'm 5' 7" and I think I could sleep on ours, but actually haven't.
