Black tank question

Can anyone tell me which manufactures are dumping shower water into black tank. I know some are doing this but it seems to be a big secret. I am getting a new tt in the 24 ft range and would like to avoid this set up.

That is what I am going to do one dealer I am talking to says there is no need it is not that way, but another dealer I talked to said he had a customer with Amerilite that was set up the same. He also said just be sure he will run some water thru for me. I like him. For those replies on here that seem to not belive my camper is plumbed this way ya'll can clean the tub IF it comes up around your feet, its for sale.

quite simply the dealer is correct they donโ€™t do it this way and IF you have one plumbed this way it was an error (one that should have been corrected)โ€ฆ whatever you intend to buy is unlikely to repeat being plumbed like that and you can insist the sale be made contingent on proof the new unit isnโ€™t, in writing, and as a part of the sales agreementโ€ฆ

so where is the problem???
Buy what you want, and do a good PDI that addresses any concerns you might haveโ€ฆ

It has never occurred to me to in a PDI to take a bucket of water, open the black water drain, and pour the water into the shower. that might put the salesman to the test. I would get that agreed to before signing the papers.

Rookwood mini lite 2504 S, or 2306, Jayco white hawk 23MBH, jayco feather ultra lite X213, starcraft launch 19BHS, or 24RLS? These are the ones we have narrowed down to. Anybody have a similar experience with any of these.

For sanitary reasons I find it hard to believe a shower would drain to a black tank. Frequently when using the shower while boondocking, my grey water tank fills up completely and the shower will not drain. If the shower drained to the black tank, wouldn't I have black water tank contents floating up into the shower????

That is how we found out my son was in the shower and said "Dad it ain't draining" I had him get out and I looked at it, brown water. Went out side oped the the gray, but that didn't drain the tub. Went to a rv place bought a tank, drained the black side and tub drained. Cleaned it all up and told him not to use shower. Dealer wouldn't help me out said they don't make them that way. GulfSteam also denied it. We figured out how to use it safely, but what a pain. Now every dealer I am talking to about my purchase (bigger and better) say that none of what they sell do that. I ain't sure I trust any of them because even after the fact my dealer still thinks I don't know what I am talking about. Will not buy from them and they have have the best prices. from the replies I am getting I must be the only one on the planet with a camper set up this way.

What if you top off the black tank while showering?? That water would be in direct contact with poo. That cant be safe. Nothing like doo doo feet to start your day. Who designs this junk and what kind of clowns are sitting in that board room saying "yep we think this is a great idea". Maybe if a little Japanese competition was introduced to the market we'd have some better RV's and trailers similar to how American car manufacturers were forced to quit making junk like they did in the 70 and 80s.

It may be easier for us to tell you what brands do not do that. My keystone passport shower drains to the grey. Also the restroom sink does too.

Wow, I'm surprised to hear that this is happening. I would not buy until the salesman would run water in the shower with the black tank valve open. If they will not do this for you then take your money to a dealer that will.

I have Conquest 19BHC. Gulfsteam and my dealer think I am crazy and while they might be right in general they ain't about this. There is no sink in bathroom and you can turn the valve of to commode and watch the shower water pour in. I have read other post on here around the same lines. So I am just trying to find out are there any others brands doing the same thing so I can stay away.

the good thing is the flow of black during the drain process is very good with the extra water.

What brand do you have? Like was said, some put the bath sink into the black but I never heard of the shower going there. Your grey tank would be pretty full after a few showers (depending on the size )are you sure your valves are not labeled wrong? I wish my sink went into the black tank!
