From the video:

"A little known fact, when you look at what's going on in the heavy duty piece of the market, we are, right now, the #2 guy in that piece of the market. We are number one in a number of States in the Country, and that's where we're going with this product that we have in the market today."

Ram doesn't even make a Heavy Duty truck. That would be anything with more than 2-axles.

I doubt they could even claim #2 in the Medium duty market, where International and Freightliner sell the most.

Maybe they mean pickup-based chassis cabs over 14,000 GVWR? That, I can believe, since only Ford and Ram play in the market since GM pulled out a few years ago.

At the end of the day it really doesnt matter which brand you buy. Just make sure it has a Cummin's engine and you will be fine.:B

You know what they say figures lie and liars figure. My guess is they are #2 if you don't count gmc and chevy together.

Ram does make a very nice truck. I just can't bring myself to consider buying one because of their quality issues in the past. I am sure they have gotten better but, right or wrong I still feel they make an inferior quality product compared to ford and gm.

What is the source of the sources data?

Guess you'd have to ask him.

However, I'm going to take a stab in the dark here and say because he's the Director of the RAM Division, he might be privy to some data on sales numbers.

There are marketing agencies like Polk that get feeds of registration data from the state DMVs and they use the VINs to track brand and model. That's also how he knows which states they are #1 in.

I couldn't watch the video for some reason, but just a wild guess here

Since 2010 Ram has really stepped it up!

I have really noticed it with the full timers, Ram, GM a close second and Ford behind.

ib,

I wonder how Ram gets access to GM, and Ford sales figures
and vice versus ? ... I've only seen the 13' Ram , looks nice,
and depending on tranny / rear end options appears to have
the bones to tow the big 5vers / TT's. My brother use to be
a CEO for Cummins... said those Dodges with the Cummins power
plant were bullet proof...done to military type specs.
