I have never been sure what this cover is on the roof of my TT. Can anyone tell me what it is and if the screws holding it down should be caulked??

Good advice. As you can see they had caulk previous to it being serviced. Will apply next time I uncover it - already covered and in storage.

Yes you dont need caulk on them but I can tell you from experience with our old trailer that its a good idea to cover them with some kind of caulk. The reason being if you ever have to take that cover off and the screws were left uncovered they will be rusted and almost completely deteriorated making them impossible to remove. When we got out new trailer that was one of the first things I did. Water will sit in those little depressions and make it ten times worse too.

you are right; there is a vent on the side and the top also....(normally ..i have seen 2 on the side - high and low - in slides). it is to allow air to come in at the bottom and vent out the top to cool the back of the fridge, where there is alot of generated heat from cooling the food.
Makes perfect sense - thanks!

I just got it from CW service in St.Augustine Fl. They did an outstanding job on the caulking - looked better than the job the factory did. There was caulk before, but I'm guessing JIMNLIN is correct - not really needed and makes it a lot easier to get to the screws. It is above the refridgerator, but I thought that vent was the one on the side.

Thanks for the responses.

My cover has screws showing like that as they just hold the cover to the flue. Even if they leaked water it can't get inside as the flue is sealed to the roof. Yours may be different.
What ever you seal with remember you may be the guy that has to remove the screws someday.

Not absolutely certain, but looks like it may be the roof vent cover for the refrigerator. If it is directly above the fridge location in the galley, you will have your answer. A dab of caulk over the fasteners probably wouldn't hurt......
