Before this thread gets locked, I’d just like to point out that it is “college.”

Did they also remove the book where two daughters get their father drunk so they could get pregnant? These same two daughters who were offered up for gang **** by their father. Seems like inappropriate reading for children and might be used to indoctrinate children.

A perfect example of the foxifacation of thought in US. Can you show 1 example of a child exposed to porn in a classroom, school or public library? I would be willing to bet, if I had a way to prove it, that just like when I was a kid, most first exposure to porn is when they find a parent's hoard.
No the conflict comes when somebody is offended by things like To Kill a Mockingbird or Diary of Ann Franks
News reports one governor is wanting to prohibit teaching about MLK in public schools.
In my extended family there is a mother that thru a fit when kid got the first Harry Potter book for Christmas. The kids also missed the Twilight series. Can't say it helped or hurt the kids, but did not affect others.

Would you let your 8 year old read something like Hustler magazine? Or watch XXX rated movies?
There is a difference between “banning books” and keeping particular age inappropriate materials away from kids.
I should of said “For most people there is a difference…”

FWIW, I'm old enough to remember when (pre-1980s?) the entire political spectrum respected and valued education. Folks ought to wonder why one end of it now prefers their followers to be less informed.
Informed about what, exactly?
