Anyone getting calls from your Ram dealer wanting to buy your 3/4 or 1 ton Ram? I have had them call me 4 times wanting my 2012 2500. Wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade to a 3500.

It's a sales gimmick to get you face to face with a salesman.

We have a 2014 Honda Accord we bought two years ago. We don't get calls fortunately, but we get mailings every so often telling us how much they need our car and how they can put us in a new one for the same or less payment, blah blah.

But of course they neglect to mention that they would be adding a couple of years to the payments ...

The Ram dealer I bought from (Dennis Dillon) hasn't bothered me at all. The Honda dealership where we bought my wife's Pilot six years ago hassled me a bunch of times with this tactic. They're just trying to generate transactions cause that's how they make money, but I do find it pretty annoying.

Yeah, my vehicles are apparently always in high demand also. Last year I got the same schpeale from the dealer I purchased my wife's Toyota from.... Guaranteed way to ensure I do not go back to them.

Not Ram, but have been getting mailers from our local dealer for years on about every Ford truck and SUV we have owned. "We need your used truck/SUV ..... AND ..... we are having a big sale on new ones."

Handwritted notes and letters from the dealer telling me my 2005 is in high demand and they have a waiting list of people wanting to purchase good used Rams. So far, this marketing has not worked on me.

I get those too. The latest was postmarked from California with no return address but it was from a local Dodge (Kansas City) dealer. A Town and Country van we sold over two years ago was in "high demand"...if the same dealer pulled the service records from that van they would have a clue why we dumped it.

Yep, they just want to sell you a new vehicle. Don't fall for it.

Exactly, no different than the "you may have already won" publishers clearing house marketing. There will always be someone that responds to these types of marketing thinking the dealer or whomever else has your best interests in mind or you have the leverage in the transaction.

and they want my car I got rid of 2 cars ago! Even traded one of them to the dealership calling. Can't stop them nor the Security system people. Oh well at least the live callers are working!!

Have you priced a new truck? With all the trade in incentives $18,000 and over $10,000 off the new truck which can't tow as much costs more than what was the list for the one I have!

Dealers..all dealers, do it all the time.

What they really want is to sell you a new truck. They couldn't care less about the one you have now and will give you very low trade value for it.

I get them as well (and used to get them on my 03). I would love to believe that there is a strong market for the last pre-DEF trucks, but I don't think that is the case.
