Delays in camper buiddate

Called to get an update for my Host Cascade build. I signed the papers March 31, I was given a build date last of September, first of October. Build date has been pushed to end of October, first of November. Obtaining materials and components are causing the delays. I'm now thinking I may not even have my camper by the end of the year. Just venting. Barry

We ordered our HOST Mammoth in July. Maybe by April ....??????
The 12volt refer is suppose to be a good unit based on conversations with three of our friends. They have had their 12volt unit for over three years. We got the off-grid package also with four solar panels. We might add a second Expion Cube 360ah battery at a later date. They are $3,800 retail. Built just down the street from HOST in Redmond, OR.
It's only money. Spend it before the government takes it away from you.

I need to update my signature but we have a 2021 Mammoth (7 month build and 1 delay due to awning issues) with the 12v fridge. So far its been great. My previous Mammoth 2-way fridge performed better with 2 additional fans to push air out the upper vent.
The 12v is a slightly bigger unit I believe and there is no need for the vents. We also have the mid-range lithium package but with the 120 AH batteries. I actually saw the 360 AH cube battery in Randall's office as a demo and they were in the midst of re-engineering their 3 packages. You should have plenty of juice to keep the fridge going a long time!

No, i did not get the 12 volt refrigerator. I've had such good service from my norcold propane/110 in my Snowriver that I went with the same in the cascade. I had a domestic 3 way in my pop up camper that was never very good on 12 volt. 12 volt didn't cool well and it ate battery juice to quickly. Hoping I get close to the service I've had from norcold. I added the new ac they were offering, Randal said it would use less energy to operate and would be quieter. It operates with remote control which I think will be nice on a hot evening being able to shut the ac off from bed when the night air cools. The biggie was I added the extreme solar package. It was a difficult decision as it was very expensive. Energy is my biggest obstacle when off grid. With the bigger holding tanks on the host it will give us much more time to enjoy being off grid. I'm retired and excited about the journeys ahead in our new camper. Barry

Actually the wait was good in a way, we were able to make some changes to our build and it didn't bother Host to get a few more of our green backs. Thanks for sharing your camping spot, we will definitely try it out. Barry

True, waiting can be a bummer, but certainly not the end of the world. In 2001, it took Ford 10-months (yes, 10!) to build our F-350. During the wait, we just kept saving money to buy our camper.

We've spent some time, would go back for sure, just outside of Silver City. Hwy 15, maybe half hour, 45 min's out. Part of the Gila Nat forest.





It's headed the right direction... from there, White Sands, Lincoln Nat Forest, Carlsbad Caverns, etc.....

I'm really not surprised, just venting I guess. Hopefully it will be constructed well and will last us a good long while. This is a big purchase for us, guess you can understand the excitement we have to finally take ownership. There are a few cards to play as we are a pretty good ways from the dealership, a little planning for sure. I have my Snow River sold, so we will not have it to use when we travel to Arizona. Really looking forward to the road trip. Anyone know of a good camping spot near Mesa, Arizona that is a little off grid? Barry

For the record, NOBODY thought that. Back at the beginning of this experts were on every news outlet saying that this was gong to have long term repercussions on the economy, supply chains, etc..

Yes, waiting sucks. But with the reality of where manufacturing is...you're not doing to bad. Fact is, we created this..doesn't matter what industry, everything is struggling. Between supply issues and lack of workers (and those two go hand in hand most often, compounding the supply issue) it's a small miracle just getting something that is complete.

One cannot simply 'shut down' entire industries, pay people to stay home, and think that everything is going to keep chugging along normally.

Hope you see soon... would be a GREAT Christmas gift!!

Wondering if there are any other rv.net members that are on a waiting list for a Host camper or any other manufacture. Is it an industry wide issue? Just trying to pass some time away not that it isn't already passing quickly. Barry
