Bluenote, I guess you didn't realize that was a joke. You ever drive up hill both ways, in the snow?

There in lays the crux of your problem. Your assumming all diesel trucks get what you claim your neighbors DMAX mpgs gets. One size don't fit all.

I don't like being lumped in with other posters. I'm my own person. It doesn't mean I wouldn't be your buddy, or 8.1, or anyone else, but I think you're generalizing and diminishing the value of individual posts when you lump people together. So, thanks for the discourse buddy.

I'll also point out that not all diesels get 20+ mileage pulling a heavy trailer up a 6% grade both ways in the snow.

SBluenote,
Not to argue re mpg's of the dmax's, but as I recall you have an earlier model!?!?!?! ie first 2 maybe 3 model yrs......those did get a bit better MPG's than later models like my 05.

Also, most of you have a different truck than the people I know, because I don't know anyone personally that gets twice the mileage I do, and in fact the mileage is roughly 30% better or less than what I get, when it's better. As a matter of fact my next door neighbor has a Chev 2500 Duramax and gets 14mpg unloaded...that's not what I consider twice the mileage of my truck, but it's a fact and not an Internet claim.
