Do Extended Cabs Come in Long Bed?? Looking for 5er Truck

I'm going to be buying a 34' 5th wheel.I've towed TT's with Suburbans, but never a 5er.

So, I begin looking for a used diesel truck, and I see almost exclusively King Cab, or Crew Cab trucks that look like short beds. I see all the advice for towing 5ers says, "Only use long bed."

Do these Crew Cabs come with Long Beds? I sure haven't seen any in the used truck listings.

Any advice appreciated.

We wouldn't be without a long bed or crew cab or 4WD. Lots and lots of room, even with a fifth wheel hitch.

I thought ALL pickups came with the std 8' bed, anything shorter is a short bed. Longer would be a LONG bed. So are some of you saying I can find LONG bed pickumups?!?!? ie lke 9-10' beds!!!KEWL! I'll take one!

For whatever it is worth I am driving Ms DAISY alot and end up sitting in the local WALMART Parking lot waiting for the wife to finish up grocery shopping. By far the most dual wheeled trucks are the DODGE BRAND DIESEL. Then it is Chevy followed by Ford. The Dodge Brand appears to still be the loudest diesel engine haha...

I have always driven the Ford Trucks...

My daily driver for almost 4 months has been a crew cab with 8ft box.

I would only want this configuration if I had to have the long bed, and it was not a daily driver. I park it in a parking garage M-F, and takes special spots to be able to get it in and out. The blind spots with these are also enhanced, and takes great care.

Answer to your question is yes, not real common but available. My son has a F350 long bed. 8' instead of the 6.5' like mine.

I pull my 40 foot 5'r with a 2012 Ford F250 crew cab standard bed. I have a slider hitch and have no problems with it.

Even rarer than the ones above are the double crew cab 8' bed models that were custom made at a handful of dealers. Nothing like three full doors on each side and 97" of bed way out back.

I have a 2012 F350 SRW crew cab long bed. And before that, a 2007 F350 SRW crew cab long bed. And before that, a 2004 F250 crew cab long bed.

Or you could still get the short bed and get a slider hitch. Some slider hitches are automatic. This is the way I would go if I were to tow a 5'er.

THanks. At least I know I am not looking for a mythical truck that doesn't exist. I'll keep up the hunt.

They do in fact make them, and they are long.... But, some swear by them, and some wont have them...

My Chevy 3500 Silverado (diesel duly) has 4 full size door in the cab and full size front and back seat. The front seat is a split bench seat with an arm restraint in the middle to make more "bucket seat" style, or can be lifted for 2 passengers and 1 driver.

The bed of the truck is 8 feet 1 inch long (the actual length) and I can lay a full sheet of plywood or dry wall flat between the wheel wells. The outside deminsion of the truck is 8 feet wide with the fat (duly) fender).

The truck does it all. It can comfortably transport 6 adults. The back seat (split also), lifts up also, making space available from the floor to the ceiling. So if traveling, we can stow a LOT of stuff in the back with the seat up.

The back seat also comes with a flip down arm rest in the middle and then the back can be used as 'bucket seat' style too. Very versatile.

By the way, this is a fabulous truck! We love it! It's by far the best vehicle we've ever owned.

Yes there are long beds that have Crew Cabs. We have one. I've seen a number on the local lots here. We had to special order ours which was OK since I wanted a certain set of features, especially since I'm spending that much on a truck. When the truck arrived the dealer told us he received a number of inquiries from other dealers looking for a long bed.
