Door window glass

What glass is in your door window on your TC? My old '98 Bigfoot had obscured glass for privacy, while the new '18 has tinted, but otherwise clear glass. Did they make a mistake? I'm afraid the neighbors will get an eyeful at night with an interior light on. Thanks.

I changed out my frosted glass upper window to smoked glass ordered from a local glass shop (20 bucks). I then installed a cheap roller shade from Ikea above the door for privacy at night. During the day you can't see into the camper with the smoked glass.
I don't like any of the snap covers or integrated window shades as you need to open the door and separate the screen door to operate them. With the roller shade it can be raised and lowered without having to open the door.

Two solutions:

Install this screen door handle higher than the window and hang a towel on it:

Or install this window with integrated shade:

Wow, I must be cheap. Mine has clear glass. I got some sticky bubble wrap someplace and used that to cover all but the top 1/2 inch. Instant privacy glass. To get additional privacy when I'm in the camper I just open the bathroom door which swings right across the door. Unless somebody can see thru wood and focus thru bubble wrap, they ain't seeing anything.

Where did you get the clear glass?

I got ours from local glass shop. I just took old glass to them to match. They also had the thin mastic tape ours uses to seal, though caulk likey work.

My 2017 BF 10.4 came stock with clear upper glass in door. I Factory ordered with no lower glass. Do not need it, and less concern of break in point. I cut & fit Reflectix for door glass. Keeps heat & cold out, and blackout shade for Wally parking.
I like the post above with the roller shade. Something I thought about but never got it done. Would work well with the bolster BF has above door.

This is hung with tension rods top and bottom.
I bought the curtain at Walmart. I got a 36 inch set and cut down the one panel and sewed a hem for the bottom to fit tension rod to hold it in place.
A 24 inch curtain might work without having to sew a hem.

I replaced our frosted glass with a piece of tempered glass I had cut to size. I then used window tint film (78%) for desired effect.
Then added a $15 blackout curtain from Ikea to keep night time eyes from seeing in and also to block light from entering. You can't see in no matter how close you are in daylight and looking out is perfect.

Clear glass at the bottom pane of the window allows me to see cars following close behind the camper.

Unless the front window in camper is offset to one side, or you have an e-cab or crew cab truck.

Clear but there is a pull down shade. It's a side entry and the window is high off the ground and doesn't reveal where we would normally change our clothes so it usually stays up.

My screen door has a pull down shade on the inside to obscure the upper window. As I remember camping world carries the upper door replacement glass

Last year when I changed my upper window from the frosted type I was going to do the same as above. But then I realized at night you would have to open the door to get the screen door out of the way to operate the shade part.
So instead I just took apart the frame and glass, ordered a piece of smoked glass from a local glass shop ($20) and installed it in the original frame. The smoked glass option takes care of privacy during the day. You cannot see inside at all (unless your face is right at the glass) but looking outward the smoked glass barely changes the view.
For night time privacy I installed an Ikea pull down shade($6)above the door at the ceiling. Now this blind can be pulled down and raised with the door staying closed. Much better for security when something is happening behind the camper.

This whole mod got started after one morning when an overzealous camp host decided to knock on my door at 6am while it was still dark. It did not feel good opening that door not knowing who was there as the door glass is the only view out the back in my camper.
