im sorry, dumb question. newbie here... do you guys usually keep your beer/soda etc... in the fridge or in a cooler with ice for the weekenders? my camper is on a seasonal site and I keep the fridge on all week when im not there, but im wondering if its better/cheaper for me to put all the drinks back in an ice cooler for the weekend? mainly to prevent fridge being opened/closed a lot... or do you just keep drinks in the fridge at all times? everything usually fits in the fridge.. thanks and sorry once again...im learning new things as im growing here...

We have one of those prtable ice makers we keep outside, so I dump the ice in the cooler a few times a day to keep the beer cold.

IF it's just the 2 of us....fridge

IF it's a group.......large ice chest

Don't want group of folks traipsing in/out of RV all day long letting the cold air out and standing in front of the fridge with door open window shopping

That's what we do.

We spend more time outside than in so beer, wine and soda's in a cooler with ice. We have an portable ice maker in one of our curb side basement compartments so the cost of ice is - free.

If it's cold or wet outside and we decide to sit in then the cooler sits on our rubber entry mat.

I'm not saying you wouldn't find the odd beer in the fridge but generally if you drop by for a beer with us you should look in the cooler.

Fridge is for the food, we keep beer and water along with soft drinks in a cooler. We are outside most of the time so the cooler stays out also.

Everyone has 3 can drinks of their choice in the fridge. When you take one out you put another one in upside down so you will know that was the last one in. They are responsible for keeping their own drinks stocked.

I set the fridge to its highest setting (5) during the day and on 3 when going to bed.

This has worked well for us.

We have a 1.6 cu ft. Danby in the basement of our Jayco WhiteHawk. Used it to cool soda and beer for the first time a couple weeks ago. What a disappointment. Don't know if the fridge is a POS or if the coils can't dissipate heat efficiently because of the fridge location.

Check your temp setting on the back of the fridge. We have a White Hawk also, and I had mine freezing my beer when it was turned to its coldest setting.

Neither.
Beer doesn't go well with a nice white wine and foie gras....:B

We have a top of the line Igloo, rated to hold ice for 4 days, that we keep inside our 24' class C. All of our drinks go there freeing up space in the frig. I have 6 blue ice blocks and rotate 3 in/out of the freezer to the Igloo every morning. It keeps everyting ice cold and we save the ice cubes from the freezer for cocktails. Being inside the local miscreants won't be helping themseves to my brewski's. It is out of the way behind the dinette and makes a great seat for putting on your shoes.

Whn the trailer is in Florida for 5 months, I have an electric cooler for beverages so there is more room in the fridle. Doesn't cost that much and is available from Walmart and other places. Works for me.

Just buy a tt with an outdoor kitchen. Two fridges, problem solved. I use the outside fridge for beer and drinks and to make ice. It gets opened a lot but still stays nice and cold. Ice is expensive to buy and I don't pay any extra for hydro use.
