Electric stabs questions

Hey everyone. We took the Camper out for the first time besides our drive way. I lowered the electric stabs but wasn't sure how far down to put them. Is it just a judgment call of "that seems tight enough" or do I put em down until they stop?

Oh and discovered the fresh water tank needs some serious sanitizing.

Thanks guys for the input. Yea manuals are easier to judge how much pressure is on them but these are electric.

I like the electric stabs too.

I like the electric, especially in the rain....just not the stab. Electric scissor jacks would be my preference.
Thanks,
Bill

This.

Personally, I find I don't like the Lippert electric stabs. The next TT will have manual jacks.

I hear you! Given a choice, I'd have manual jacks but the trailer came with the electric ones and they work 'ok'.

Mine are also manual, I let them down until snug then turn about 1 extra turn, they are not for leveling, just stabilizing, I also cut 2X6 18 inches long and place this down for the legs, I put a coffee cup type screw in the ends of my boards and took a piece of dowel rod and put a coffee cup screw in it, I don't have to bend to pick up or set in place that way and it save my old knees and back.

Welcome from Rhode Island.

I don't have electric, but my hand stabs, I crank them til the touch then about 2 turns more. The key, keep even pressure. It is easy to twist a trailer and then you can't open and close a door(s).

Fresh water sanitizing is needed every spring, and maybe once during the year, depending on usage. 1/4 cup bleach solution for every 10 gallons of capacity. If it is bad, maybe doubling. Let it sit in all the lines overnight. Then flush. I would bypass the Hot Water Heater, like it was winterized. My 2 cents.
