link works for me. Interesting story from the poster. There have been members here with condensation in the intake issues, but it doesn't seem prevalent as it isn't a constant whine. Seems to only be an issue in states with decent humidity and rain fall.

Not a common failure, but as soon as he mentioned the fluxuating boost pressures, I knew what the issue was. I had a friend who experienced a similar boost fluxuation back when we were in high school on his '88 Merkur with a turbo 2.3L. Under boost, there was a split in the boot from the IC to the intake manifold which would bleed off the pressurized air. Surging and bucking under load, lack of power, etc. Fixed the boot with duct tape for a couple weeks while the part was on order, and the new boot eventually solved the problem. 🙂
