FOUND!!! FOUND!!! FOUND!!! I am screaming with joy!!
Early this evening, we got a call that our TT was found out in the country hidden behind a barn. I was JUST in that area last Friday!!! The property is owned by a man who lives in Missouri. His brother happened to be there this afternoon to pick up his cattle and saw our TT. He was puzzled and went to check it out. The thief with a 10 or 11 years old boy ran off in a car. The brother then called the police. The police came and identified our TT as stolen. They informed the Olathe, KS, police department, and the detective called my husband at work. He asked me to meet him at his work so I did. We drove 20 miles south to the police impound lot where our TT is kept. On the way down, my husband explained further that the tow driver had to drive very slowly because two slide outs were extended. Yikes! Upon arriving the lot, the moment I saw it, I knew it is ours!! The exterior looked great! No damages but dirty. The police officer said it was from driving on the gravel road. Okay, no problem! The hitch ball lock was gone. Wow...how??? I noticed the lock on our door was white, not black. The thief had changed the lock so he could get inside. It was locked so we were unable to get in. The police officer asked my husband to try to open the storage bin. He did, and it opened. The police officer was satisfied that the TT is ours. I asked for the locksmith and was told we would have to wait until tomorrow because the Olathe police department wants to process our TT for evidence before releasing it to us. I thanked the police officer profusely and hugged him so hard. He told us he thinks he knows who the thief is so we are very happy. On our way back home, while driving, the word, Found, repeatedly went through my mind. I can't believe this! I also wondered what if the brother never came or the cows weren't there in the first place. I am so grateful for the brother. I will go back tomorrow and check the inside (hopefully there will be no damages), wait for the Olathe police department to finish their job, and then bring it home. Oh, yes, we WILL put our TT in a security self storage facility with fences. And, yes, I will buy tire boot locks. I will also check with our insurance agent and see if it would be worth our money to install a GPS tracking device.
Thank you all so much for your thoughts, prayers, and wishes. We really do appreciate them very much!! Hugs to you all!!!

Believe it or not -- our 2014 Coachmen Freedom Express Liberty Edition travel trailer, model number 305RKDS, which we bought last December 2013, was stolen sometimes between Monday evening (November 10) and early Tuesday morning (November 11) at the truck parking, where my husband works, in Olathe, KS. We had a FEMA travel trailer parked there for three years with no problem. We used a hitch ball lock, but that obviously didn't deter the thief/thieves. We are so devastated, especially me, as our personal belongings are in the trailer. They cannot be replaced
๐ We have already notified the police, KS/MO state parks and campgrounds, our bank, Craiglist, etc. I would appreciate it greatly if all of you would please spread the word about this through any network you may have. The more the people know the better.
Please contact my husband Mark at 913-709-5724 or the Olathe police department at 913-971-7500 if you see our TT.
