Front tire wear after 27,000 miles

First time truck camper owner. Arctic Fox 1150 on a 2015 Chevy DRW. Handles and travels great. Has about 27,000 miles on the truck. 3/4 of that is probably with the camper on. Half of that towing a boat behind the camper as well.

I was loading it up the other day for a trip and noticed the front tires have a significant amount of wear on the outside of the treads on both tires. Just curious if this is normal or if I need to be looking into some issue.

I've struggled with the front tires on my dually also. Glad to hear I have some company with my misery....... All parts up front are new and alignment is pretty much perfect but still seams to wear on the tires. Not to HiJac the thread but I was wondering if anyone runs HT's on the front with AT's on the rear? Would save a little money and thought maybe they would wear better?

That all makes sense. I wondered about the heavy diesel engine in the front combined with the big ol' camper in the back. Put in some turns where all that weight shifts into the tires and there you have it. I will work on getting them rotated more and keep an eye on them for when they definitely need switched out.

I rotate my dually tires. in 10K miles I was just starting to show a "different" wear on the front.
Right Front goes to Left Rear outer
Left front goes to Right Rear outer.

that's how I do it, but it may not necessarily be how the books says to do it.
I am old school as far as radials are concerned (I can remember the Firestone 500 recall) The above method always keeps tire rotation in the same direction.
Problem is one rotation I have white raised letters on sidewall, next rotation I have black letters on sidewall.

Agree. Learned this since buying my Ram DRW in 2015. Fronts lasted 20,000 miles despite having alignment checked twice. Now rotate every 5000 miles for the fronts.

Been driving duallies at work for 20 years. Gmc first, now a couple of F450's. Been through a LOT of front tires. Alignment doesn't help, just wears on the outside quickly, is what it is I guess. I'm driving a pretty loaded up utility truck, very heavy.

Outside front tire wear is pretty common with duallies, especially with heavy diesels, additional load, cheap OE tires and/or curvy/mountain driving.
It's a lot to ask out of a narrow little tire. Unless it pulls one way or another, alignment is likely fine.

Align with the camper on, then it wears the tires when the camper is off.

Rotate often, we did it at 5k miles, seemed to help.

Front end alignment. The camper is probably unloading the front end causing the problem. Have it aligned with the camper on.
