Well I have read on other forums that they are replacing the engines at the Flint assembly plant. If I owned a highly optioned truck, I would say give me a loaner for a month and replace my engine and give it back.

my niebours truck has been in the dealership for 3 months now and they gave him a 1 ton rental to use with no end date. they said he is authorized for the rental until his truck is fixed.

Well lets see. Your first link is not "directly from the OEM".

GM Authority is owned and operated by Motrolix LLC. In addition to GM Authority, Motrolix also owns and operates the following properties:

Ford Authority
Cadillac Society

GM Authority is not owned, operated, supported, or otherwise condoned by General Motors, its brands, subsidiaries, or partners.

BTW, the same site the OP posted?

Your second and third links respectively...................

"GM is buying back an unknown amount of both Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups with diesel engines. The company is mum about the number of trucks involved. Also unknown are the years the issue is affecting. What we do know is that the problem involves quality issues surrounding the 6.6-liter L5P V8 Duramax turbo-diesel engine."

And...................

"General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, Silverado 3500, GMC Sierra 2500, and Sierra 3500 vehicles with electronic brake control modules (EBCM) replaced during vehicle assembly. The bolts that attach the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) assembly may not be properly tightened, which could fail to seal the two sub-assemblies and allow water intrusion"

Not sure what water intrusion in brake control module has to do with buybacks of pickups with diesel engines?

Your 4th link thread starts with a reference to the web rag in your first link?

Your 5th link results in a download of a recall from 2019, not a buyback of a truck?

I'm confused.

Hell I have a 2018 Chevrolet 3500 LTZ Duramax 6.6 and from day one the engine bock heater was recalled. Been replaced once. Shortly after that it was recalled again. Every time I ask the dealership they state thereโ€™s no replacement available. I had a long conversation with GM costumer service and they only stated the same thing โ€œNO FIX AT THIS TIMEโ€. My only response was โ€œTHATS NO WHAT I PAID FORโ€. Still waiting! If they want to buy this thing back they can have it!

Chief I'm in the same boat, but I did get a letter from GM saying that parts are now available. Going in next week. I have no desire to be anywhere that I need that block heater, but I want what I paid for.

So your saying that living in Texas, you actively plug your truck in? Or are you just pissed that they cant fix the recall (that gets my vote)? I wont argue that two recalls on the same cord is dumb. However, what do you care? No one living in Texas needs to plug their truck in anyway. Now if you lived in a Northern State you could be put out by the cord recall and could have a reason to complain about it. That said, I spend time in Montana, and North Dakota as well as East Idaho. I have had at least one Dmax since '01. Not once has it not started in subzero cold when not plugged in...Ever! I think your looking for something to complain about, but not enough to actually do something about it, but enough to complain. Your Dmax will never be worth more than it is right now, and Ford and Ram are still selling pickups. If you really want one, I am sure there is one that can have your name on it.

Howdy!

Iโ€™m a fulltime RVer and travel the country. I have a lot of features on my truck that I seldom use. But I paid from them and expect them to work if and when I choose to use them.
