Graphics......

We recently bought a 2003 Kustom Koach. Every thing is pristine, very well looked after inside nd out.(except water heater, see separate post :). However, the graphics on the sides of the TT are showing wear. I am in the graphics business, so I WILL be replacing them myself, but it got me thinking, what do you guys do with deteriorating graphics? Remove them? Replace them? Just live with them?

I called Keystone on our 2009 TT for having faded / cracked and peeling graphics. The only ones that were doing this were the words Keystone, none of the swishing ones. Keystone sent me a docuemnt of the different types of graphics available and I picked out the wording that was on mine, took a photo for them and sent it via email. 9 days later - i had a complete set ready to be put on. 1 for the front and rear and 1 each for each side.

When you remove the old ones - be patient and thourough. A hair dryer will removed the old ones with a plastic scraper. You then have to get the remaining glue removed, then clean it over and over again to ensure you have a good surface for the new ones to be applied to. You will also notice that there is some color differnces from where you took the old ones off and the area next to it, use that for your alignment and levelness.

Good luck and yes - this makes a world of difference to your camper.

Happy trails.

The decal on the front of my trailer had shrunk & cracked, I got a local place to replace it for $80. He quoted my $1500 to redo the whole trailer. But my side and back ones are just bubbling so far, so I've popped them with a small needle and pressed it back down.

I emailed KZ and they have zero interest in replacing the decals. But since my trailer is out of warranty that doesnt surprise me.

The best way to remove the old graphics is by using a heat gun of some sort.(a good hair dryer may work) The heat softens the vinyl and adhesive and is easily peeled off, however there is often adhesive left behind which has to be removed with a glue remover similar to this 3M GLUE REMOVER

If your graphic is badly cracked it will come away in little pieces, so it can be time consuming. 😞 Also, you should be aware that "ghosting" is very common. Once you remove the graphic, you may still be able to see where it was because the body of your TT will fade at a different rate behind the graphic.
Good luck.

Man, if it is that easy. I'm gonna give Jayco a call and see if they will follow suit. It's starting to bother me that my Eagle looks faded. The graphics that is.

LOL..... I thought the same thing, so I sent an "exploratory" email to Kustom Koach. You never know, right?

Aftermarket graphics have worked well .
I removed my factory decals and had an outfit in Riverside ? CA install fancy aftermarket swooshes . this was ten years ago .
The same graphics are on my truck and TT .
RV Graphics ? had a booth set up at the myriad rv shows that occurred in Jan-March around Palm Springs .
It was a common practice then in socal . MH's ,TOWED's , Fifths , Tow Vehicles , and very few TT .
About a decade ago when my trailer was new we repeatedly stayed at Outdoor Resorts in Cathedral City .
They still look good today and have not peeled or faded .
But my TT and duramax are always garaged except when camping .

Just finished replacing all of our swooshes. I made patterns from the ones on our TT, ordred vinyl, cut and installed. Turned out awesome for half the price!

Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know much, and are all the greater fools for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom.

I went to the local sign guy and had him make me a set. I can't stand pealing or worn graphics. They are very inexpensive to replace and make a huge difference.
