Great deal on a 100w solar panel for TCs, but today only

Sorry, I just saw this on Home Depot.com, and it ends today. A 100watt (5.56amp max) Grape Solar panel for $100. These are close to double elsewhere. They also have pwm charge controllers on sale. You could get a whole package for $130.00.

Disclaimer - Wayne knows I know better... I know very well that advertisements are not allowed on RV.net. I don't consider this an advertisement, I thought this was such a good deal for TC'ers I thought I should post it.
I am most certainly not affiliated with Home Repo in any way, and usually spend time bashing them, but in this case, it's a good panel for cheap.

I've got to say you truck camper folks are okay. I'm installing a Trimetric battery monitor in my 5er this weekend, and was planning to do an energy audit prior to picking up any solar panels. Saw the price and decided to order two. Afterwards I thought about all the space I have on the roof and ordered two more.

Thanks for the tip. Now if any of you guys have any good methods of getting something huge into the great spots you get to go..... I kept keeping things small, but then the wife hated the rigs and didn't want to camp. Now she loves the camper, but I can't get to the areas I love to camp. Such is life.

ROFL...

I'm no longer thinking this was a good deal. Since at some point the delivery man is going to be showing up with boxes a little to large to miss I figured I ought to mention the purchase to the wife. Seems if I have the money and time to waste on solar panels for the trailer there is no reason I can't purchase and install a new dishwasher. I hate how that works.....

I bought one. My total wattage with this panel will be 280 watts. More than enough for our purposes. The price was good and it will basically fill unused space on the very front of the roof of the Outfitter.

Is it a perfect setup, no! Its a very good product, I have one other, and its a very good price.

Thanks for the heads up.

I am a bit rusty on panel sizes but I think this a kind of large for the wattage. Limited real estate on our roofs.

As solar panel inefficiencies improve, the panel size becomes smaller. Older, larger panels will become sale items as they are either discontinued or pushed out for the smaller more efficient panels.

I am aware of that hence why I posted, a person would be better served with one or two of the higher wattage panels (with the same footprint) was my point.

I do not see it as advertising any more that posting a sale on shocks, cost of a TC or truck. I think it is a gray area.

The Home Depot sale does include free shipping to your home. However, I must say, the solarblvd site does appear to offer very good deals... but I am not familiar with their panels, or their shipping charges. I am familiar with the Grape Solar panels that are very high quality and well warranted.
I must keep solarblvd in mind, though, if I am just looking to maximize my dollar per watt ratio. Tnx.

It IS a deal. I just ordered one and my thanks to the original poster. I have Grape Solar 160W panels on my Allegro. This additional 100W panel can either go up on the roof, or I will use as my emergency 12VDC source for my ham radio emergency communications activities.

3/4 timing in a DIY van conversion. Backroads, mountains, boondocking, sometimes big cities for a change of pace.
