Whenever we go to the races in Joliet I travel with water tanks full only a 20 minute drive and buy water only if we run out. Headed to the race in Sparta KY about 6 hr drive no water hookup at CG but water can be bought. Anyone travel long distances with full water tanks or not a good idea?

During hunting season I've gone 80 miles away with the trailer 40 gallon fw tank full along with 80 to 100 gallons in the truck bed. I have a 50 gallon leg tank, 3 - 15 gallon barrels and several aquatainers. I fill and carry what ever I think I will need. No need for me to be searching for and purchasing water.

YES......80 gallons fresh water ----Always!

What happens if you don't travel with water and CGs water source is smelly (sulfur/iron), well water (extremely hard) or water supply is shut down cause line broke or didn't pass last water quality test :H
Is it time for your medication or mine?

We always have full fresh water tank 46, then another 28 in aquatainer jugs. We dry camp only so the holding tanks are full on the way home too. Over highways, interstate, then mountain back roads that are sometimes very rough. I have yet to have any sort of issue and hopefully it stays that way.

I do not mean this in a sarcastic way, but to me it's like asking if I ever leave home with batteries fully charged...I never new people left without full fresh water tank as well as fully charged batteries. In summary, fill everything and go watch your race, you should be just fine.

The TT was designed to travel with a full tank so I travel with a full tank.

If I am going to a place where I know the water to be good maybe 1/3 of a tank.

If I am going on a short trip, I might carry 2/3rds of a tank.

I can tell you that one or two bouts with bad tasting campground water will convince you.
