Here is my new to me travel trailer. I have been camping my whole life. Parents started out with a little Scotty TT, then had a popup trailer, then a Mobile Scout. From there they switched to using overhead campers.
My grandparents had went from a travel trailer to a 1984 Winnebago Chieftain. My dad got one month vacations each year, so we'd spend it traveling all over the western United States with grandparents leading the way in motorhome and us following with camper. We usually used Colorado Springs area as sort of our jumping off point since we have family with land up there.
After I had grown and started working my parents had saved up and purchased a 5th wheel, which they towed with the truck you see in these pictures. By this time my grandparents just traveled with my parents as they weren't able to get around as well.
Now my parents own a 2003 Winnebago Brave, and they love it. My grandma has passed, but my grandpa lives with them and still travels with them at 97 years old.
I'm not married but do have a serious relationship, and I want to introduce her to joys of camping. Now I finally have my first ever RV. It's not as fancy as many of them, and rather than pulling it with my 2004 F-150 FX4, I'm pulling it with my dad's F-250 (saves wear on my truck, and despite what the numbers on my engine that SHOULD make it about as strong...his truck can run circles around mine pulling that trailer).
My plans are to buy an F-250/350 SRW diesel within a couple years to replace both my F-150 and dad's F-250.
These pictures were all taken at the Foss Reservoir State Park in Western Oklahoma near Clinton. The lake is pretty low right now due to the long drought in Western OK. This was my first trip out with the trailer.
