How many have had thanksgiving in a truck camper including cooking the meal?

I have in a 10ft TC on a 3/4 ton Ford with the wife/kid and a dog..Went fishing at a mountain lake called Lost lake, then went down to the Salmon river for thanksgiving out of the snow..We cooked a big chicken because the oven was to small for a turkey..Stuffing and all the goodies..Twas a bunch of fun watching the jet boats tackle the rapids.

Every year for the past 6 we have camped over Thanksgiving. On Tuesday we make some fixings, buy some, and get a section of cooked Turkey from the local grocery store. This year we had: Delicata squash, garlic mash potatoes, rutabagas, sweet potato and carrot purรฉe (with butter and creme fraiche), stuffing, roasted Brussels sprouts, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, chocolate cake, and of course turkey.

Headed out Wednesday and had a great Thanksgiving again (Ft. Casey state park in WA)

Not a truck camper, we have a pop-up. We always do Thanksgiving in a campground, outside the camper. We fix the full meal in Dutch ovens with charcoal and wood fire. While the 13+ lb turkey was baking in 1 oven did a pumpkin, then Dutch apple pie in another. This time we used 8 ovens. Only cooking for 2, so the ovens where not full.
This is the first year in a long time there where no strangers at the table. Most years, the day before, and while cooking I watch for people that look like they are spending the day alone, invite them to join us.

WE have done thanksgiving on the beach many times. USually made the turkey at home then did all the sides on the beach. Was great fun. But the kids got older and busy so its hard to do it now.

I hope everyone had a nice TG with family and friends.

I had dinner with friends who are living in their 5th wheel while they are building a new house.

They smoked the turkey and ham in their new smoker and both were delicious along with all the side dishes.

Sure. 1/2 a small bird fits in the oven just fine. While most of the campgrounds were closed we found one with the gate open. It rained cats+dogs all day so it was just the two of us in the camper playing games in the camper.

It's a bit of a stretch but we've had gatherings at Thanksgiving with fellow RVer's and it was there we saw our first truck camper with slides. It was a Chalet and the owners remarked it has everything our 5th wheel had.
We've prepared side dishes and desserts but never a turkey.
Being in N Ca., there is a lot of anticipation for crab season to open during this time so it's common to have this in addition to turkey.
Sorry we can't contribute to any actual prepared turkey stories but I couldn't help but comment to the topic. The interesting thing was every family we gathered with had met and become friends through RV.net

I'm not even that close.

I've never even lit the oven in my current camper.
Come to think about it, never in my previous camper either.

One Thanksgiving, we drove all day and had Bojangles chicken for dinner parked at a truck stop. That's the closest we had to a holiday feast in our camper.

Weather was cool with intermittent showers. Would do it again but not this year, don't know if the campground is even open after the fires this summer.

We are Hosting this year, in the past host got together for a potluck Thanksgiving, and did have one turkey cooker. This year no gatherings so we are also doing the Gam Hen thing.

Update on Detroit Lake;
Park is closed while staff repair damage from the Lionshead Fire. All reservations will be canceled and fees refunded for the duration of the closure.
