2002 GMC 2500HD....

Bought it with 250 miles on it.

And now it has 142,000.

I feel no need to "upgrade".

I'm sure you left out the transmission problems and the front suspension replacement parts and a set of injectors to boot... :W

2007 Silverado 6.0 2500 HD 135,000 miles still running like new!!!! At 100,000 new plugs and wires, Oil changes every time it tells me to. Air filter one a year but doesn't need it that often. Zero leaks and you could eat off my motor kept so clean. I was just about to buy a truck but decided to keep her another 2 years

Had 400,000 on my '00 Silverado 1500 4x4, when we decided (on this exact date in '13) i needed a more "mom/grandma friendly truck", I bought a '02 Yukon with 126,000 (not even broke in lol).
My husband was shocked at how upset I was to get rid of my Silverado. I sold to SIL, he drove it for a year and actually asked my permission to sell it for 'non-gashog'

Well my 09 Ford F-250 is not as old or have as many miles (68k) but the 6.8L V-10 and the 4.10 rear behind the 5sp TS auto is a dream to drive. Never done anything to the motor but oil and filters. My wife keeps telling me I'm going to need another one when I retire but I just ask her why?

Love reading these posting's! I have a 2013 GMC Seirra 2500 4x4, 6.0 V8, 4:10 gears, Z71 package and fully loaded. I have 11,114 miles on her. I put away come first snow storm in New Hampshire and bring her back out when all the snow and road salt is gone. My buddy's kid me cause my frame looks brand new! I take care of her like she's my kid. I installed air bags on her and she rides like a Cadillac going down the road with the 5th wheel behind me! I think this truck might out live me! Drove through a GMC dealer the other day and saw some fully loaded 1 ton diesels for around $63,000-$66,000 MSRP. I would love to have one but Wow they are not cheap. So after looking I drive away with a smile on my face realizing I am very happy with what I got. Keep Trucking!

Grit Dog, how did the injectors treat you. I have the same truck with 132,000 miles and it will be getting the 3rd set of injectors next week.

I agree. Sold my 02 Dmax with only like 125k mi. It still was like new, didn't nickel n dime me at all and would smoke mustangs off the line when I turned it up.
Would a kept it til the wheels fell off but kind of fell into a deal on the mega cab.

Mine, a factory ordered 2001 Silverado, 98,000 of mostly only TT towing miles, sometimes I take it to work to keep things oiled. Absolutely love it! I am not a diesel fan and with these baby gas engines they are putting in trucks I don't see me ever trading.

I ordered a 3/4 ton and once I hooked up to my then 29v Arctic Fox I had wished I done the 1 ton SRW. The only difference was the rear springs.

So two new improvements this year; 1 ton springs and repaint. Here in AZ an outside vehicle paint only lasts abbot 8 years, so I have a lot of AZ custom paint right now :-), I want the factory paint back.

Ok, I'm in. I ordered my truck from Flint in OCT 2002, took delivery
in NOV 2002. The Fleet sales manager really helped me put together my
package. Diesel was about $4k more at the time, and 4x4 was another $2500 (IRC).
I distinctly remember him recommending the 4.1 and the Allison, as well as powered towing mirrors.

Lately, she has started to groan a bit... most notably the day after
towing. Does still have amazing throttle response. I was one of the lucky ones
that "piston slap" skipped. My oil use seems reasonable. And,
with gas prices what they are, I do not complain about MPG anymore.

So, at 14 years... I love this truck.

This week will recharge the K&N, clean the throttle body and MAF sensor.
Then I think it is about time to visit the Allison folks for another flush/check-up.
Got caught up in a Haboob (desert duststorm ) at the start last tow season.(while towing).
No fun. So, I'm thinking, filter and flush is past due.

Hope I make 20.

The best part of that LUUUUV is the no monthly $$ that has to be sent to a bank/finance company somewhere.

Truck prices these days (don't mean to derail the thread), are out of this world.

I love having no monthly nut to pay.

Hang onto your 98. I (reluctantly) traded my 97 Suburban 200,000 miles for an 08.
The 08 is nice but, I think the 97 was a better truck. ๐Ÿ™‚
