You can pick up a good bit of angle by swapping the front inserts from side to side so the ears go forward instead of back. This will move the bottom of the tie down forward about 6" and should give you plenty of angle.
Alternative would be to go back to the factory tie down point. Look along the edge underneath, about 10-14" back from the front and you should find a hole for a 3/8" enclosed eye bolt. The eye bolt should screw into a metal bracket embedded in the unit, not the wood.
I'm real curious how the truck handles the unit. I've contemplated moving up to a 1010, but always think the weight is going to be on the heavy side. Have you weighed it by chance? My truck is almost identical to yours, just replace the "C" with a "6.4 Hemi" tag.
