Jayco Jayflight - opinions from owners...?

My son, who grew up camping with us, is now looking for a TT for his young family (SWMBO + 2 small rug rats).

They like the floor plan of a Jayflight, but our we don't really have any current knowledge of the various travel trailer brands.

Any opinions from owners of the Jayco brand and the Jayflight model in particular?

Any particular trouble spots to look for when looking at one of these?

Thanks for any info.

Bought our 2008 Jayflight 28BHS in 2007. It's been to both coasts (Florida 2x) and as far north as Missouri. I've only had very minor problems and all but 2 of those that I can think of were "self induced." I would definitely buy a Jayco again.

On my third Jayco, an Eagle. First two were Jayflights. No complaints. If and when we go to a fourth, it will be a Jayco as well.

This is our 3rd RV and our first Jayco. SO FAR we have had only 1 or 2 minor issues that I took care of myself. (Tightened up a water connection to stop a small leak and a screw backed out of a window shade.)

We looked at many others and liked the layout, quality and price of the Jayflight 26RLS.

What really capped the deal was the 2 yr. warranty that none of the others we looked at had.

Take your time and get what you want so you won't be second guessing yourself later.

We just bought a 2013 26BH a few months ago and love it! No issues so far (aside from my daughter breaking the screen door latch). A co-worker has a 2012 26BH and has has some minor issue that were all corrected under warranty (kink in water pump intake tube, mis-aligned entrance door latch, roof leak over front bed cabintes). Do you know what TV he will be using? The 26 is about 5K dry...

I had a Jayflight 20BH for 5 years without any issues whatsoever. Never had to take it back for anything. Sold the Jayflight and purchased a Jayco Eagle which has been flawless as well.

Just this past weekend we were at Camping World in Kingston NY scoping out our next Jayco. We were talking with a salesperson at CW and he told us they have practically zero problems with the Jayco trailers. He said the same could not be said for the other brands on the lot. A lot of people buy for the price which is understandable or just for looks. He was telling us about a Coleman TT that people buy just because of the bathroom. It looks great, but the rest of the trailer left a lot to be desired.

If TT shopping contact RVONE in Albany, you will save thou$ands for a few extra miles of driving to pick it up.

I bought a 2009 Jay Flight 26BH in Fall 2008. Got it for $12,995. Good fit and finish. I had no warranty issues that I needed to bring in to the dealer for.

The 26BH was good for us for 2 small kids and a dog, but without a slide it was a bit cramped.

I just saw my 2014 29QBH at the dealer on Sunday. I found 10 items that need to be addressed before I take delivery. Slide misaligned, caulk on the bed spread, putty ground into the carpet, putty on the head board, putty on the privacy curtain, back cargo door won't close. I agree with a previous poster that said that the factory leaves it to the dealer to "finish" the job.

I bought a 2011 Jayflight in the fall two years ago as the 12's were beginning to be available. I love mine.. It has more cabinets and storage than so many of other brands.. I know part of it is the floor plan that I like so well, but Jayco seems to have taken advantage of any opportunity to create useable space. I like my Jayflight well enough to put Jayco (prob Eagle, but maybe Jayflight) on the short list of trailers to consider for my FT trailer in a few years.

We had a new 2011 Jayco 26BH that we loved. Had it for ~2 years and wanted something bigger. The jayco was well built and we didn't have any real issues with it. I would have bought another Jayco (Eagle), but couldn't get the dealership to talk $$ with sanity.

Started with used 2006 model 165 in 2007 that was sold because of health problem. Trade on a 2012 Jay Feather 242 so we could have more living space, separated bedroom, and lots more storage for longer trips. Sister in law found out we had traded so she grabbed the 165. Two set of happy campers now. The health problems with the 165 owner was a one of the pushers for us to retire and try to do/see at least some of the things we have no done yet.

We bought a 2006 Jayco Jayflight 25 RKS last summer and we love it. The previous owner had 3 boys and they used it about 6 times a season. It's in very good shape. He did not cover it over the winter but the exterior is in good shape. The only thing we had to fix was a cracked shower skylight.

We like the rear kitchen floor plan because it moves the kitchen away from the middle of the RV. It has plenty of storage. The kitchen has more storage space than my home kitchen. We seriously looked for 2 years, hitting every RV show within a 3 hour drive.

We like the Jaycos. Other people like other brands. Take time to find what you want, THEN go over it with a fine tooth comb. Look around. Stick you head inside the cabinets, closets, and storage lockers and look at the construction that is hidden from view.

Very happy with my 26bh. Fit and finish is really good and for the price I paid I'm extremely satisfied. It is my 2nd Jayco trailer btw. I plan on keeping it for another 10 years or so then upgrade to another Jayco. Probably an Eagle.

We just bought our 3rd Jayco trailer. Our first was a 1993 1208 PUP, the last one was a 2003 Kiwi 17A HHT, and the new one is a 2013 Jay Feather X20E HHT (not in my sig yet!). Never had any real problems with the PUP or the first HTT and we had each of them for 10 years. The new HTT just finished its maiden voyage yesterday. The fit and finish of both HTTs was/is very good. Not perfect, but very good.

Keep in mind that every brand has some lemons and you will read some negative things about all of them. But you will find that the overwhelming majority of Jayco owners are pretty happy.

Been the owner of a Jayflight 26BHS G2 since February 2009. Only issue I've had (so far) is the converter went out after 1 year and was replace by warranty for free.

I like the fact that the roof is not flat. My previous camper had a flat roof and I had water intrusion issues around the A/C unit. The Jayflight has a nice slight curvature to the roof that tends to shed excess water. Of course it's still not leak proof, but with eternabonding all the seams and penetrations, I've greatly reduced the probability of it leaking.

All in all, I've been very satisfied with my unit.
