I suspect that this technology will flow down to US and other Pickups. Fascinating Video, showing a very fit 53yr old demonstrating the steering system.

But the wheels are rotating forward!
I'm pretty sure that the film is being played backwards.
Yep. He started out with the split and then they drove forward, but played it in reverse - with a bit of editing.

I went to run an errand a little while ago and Van Damme was doing yoga on the hood of our XC90.

Nope.
Here's how they did it:
WSJ "How they filmed the Volvo truck ocmmercial"

Working in advertising, I can tell you that the FTC repercussions for doing what you state are massive. And Volvo doesn't need any more trouble with the FTC...their previous run-in for false advertising in the early 90's is - to this very day - still a case-study for advertising law.

Ok, I get the dynamic steering; that's cool.

What I don't get is what does some old karate dude standing on two mirrors driving on a pool table flat surface have to do with dynamic steering? :h

It's almost as bad as a truck driving up a flaming tower to show how tough a truck is?

You make a good point Bryan.

That's not what's new. Both of those systems have been common for some time. What is new is the dynamic steering system, which not only compensates for crown, wind, off-set loads etc, but will also keep the trailer going in the direction the wheel is pointed instead of having to "chase" the trailer with the steering.

I do have mixed feeling though. I'm sure truckers will welcome anything that makes their life more comfortable. But I'm also afraid that it will allow more unskilled truck drivers on the road.
