That may not be true however, because there has been a problem for a while now with the search engine not displaying posts that are more than a year old, but less than maybe 5-6 years old. It doesnโ€™t seem to find those at all. It found 165 of your old posts though, going all the way back to your first post on 9/22/05.

At any rate, welcome back, and glad youโ€™re still TCโ€™ing.

It's because we older drivers have been ursurped by younger owner/drivers with little or no experience, but who read an article somewhere on the "net" that now makes them the authority. I have been ambushed several times and why you don't see me posting as often.

I've got five million accident free miles as of last month. I used to spend many years pulling cars, pickups, big trucks and a few rv's from ditches and hung up on guardrails. I know what I'm talking about but recently I was pm'ed and told not to post this because I was out of touch.

Just recently my youngest decided rv'ing was not for her anymore and bought an old boat. Well she has lived in So America for 30 yrs. She knows the territory and lack of roads quite well. There's more water than roads. For her it was a wise decision. It made sense. Announcing here on the forums - you'd have thought she was a traitor. It was just her way of saying goodbye.

Well for me, I sold my sig rig yesterday and I'll be returning to my sailboat in Panama. So Robert Ryan you may be seeing this old cowboy down under sometime in the future.

But for now, goodbye and good luck.

Yep, I think most old posts are still there. But someone posted that there is a gap of missing posts that span about 1 or 1-1/2 years. I think that gap was fairly recent, say 2 or 3 years ago? Anyway, maybe 10% are missing but the other 90% should still be out there somewhere.

I used to post here a lot but not actually sure when I joined(Now I am, 2005). I seem to have absorbed most of the information I needed and provided a lot of information, some of which ended up in the TCU... but it's all gone.

I'm not sure what happened to it but my search for my posts turns up empty.

This forum was a solid daily source of information and entertainment until one day I found out that it had been culled and a ton of the old posts were gone. I then realized that this forum is a rolling stone of sorts, as it picks up new information, it sheds the old.

Prior to that, I had kind of thought I was contributing to a mass of knowledge.

I usually find that the posts are of a topic that I'd read before and so just ended up getting out of it.

I still like the format, the content, and as far as I know, the people.

One of the things I'd liked about the TC forum is the trip reports. This makes the TC forum unique on RV.net that TCTR are maintain for all to read, but sadly few new ones have been post recently. As to why, it could be as simple as changing times, people moving on to other endeavors.

Although there are those in the US that use the term, the US doesnโ€™t have the large expanses without roads like Australia that people are allowed to drive on. So in the US, itโ€™s kind of a โ€œfakeโ€ hobby and even more niche than Australia.

Good to see youโ€™re still kicking around Mikeee. Havenโ€™t seen a post of yours in quite a while.

Still have the same truck and camper? Our campers were the same year and model, so I was always interested in what you were doing with yours. Iโ€™ll probably keep mine until it falls apart! :W

I wonโ€™t hold my breath waiting for us to be just like Europe.

Of course, you know the old saying: โ€œSo goes Europe, so goes the universe and beyond!โ€ ๐Ÿ˜›

I think thatโ€™s an old saying, or maybe I just made it up.

You are becoming more like Australia with the growth of Overlanding in the US. Many Australian Companies are starting to become involved

Hi Everyone.

Hey Suds,,
Mike Tassinari is still alive and kicking.

Man reading this thread was like going down memory lane.
Gezz Brad, I did not know my postings go so far back.

Brad are you aware that my group got its start from R/V.net way back in 2006. A single post from a Mike Striker got the ball rolling and I took over from there. We ended up having over 20 rigs at my very first Jamboree and it all started on here. Yes this forum may be not up to snuff but it still hold a special place for Mikeee.

Thank you to who ever owns this domain and site.

My group is called the North-East Truck Camping Jamboree and 2019 marks the 12 year that we have been doing Jamborees.
