Maxtrax MK2 the best? Should I get orange? Prices

Are Maxtrax MKII the best of that sort of thing?

Is Orange the best color? For general “not leave one behind at night” etc.

For sand and snow.

And.... I see them for $299, shipped, various places in the USA. Any better deals to be had from a legit seller?

Thanks.

Yah, I was kinda wondering that one too...
But figure If those yellow plastic levelers hold up should be ok, as long as you don't 'Floor it' from the get-go...

Also, on the list is the Pull Pal... I got caught in sand and nothing really to pull/put a winch, if I had one, to connect... so on a beach, with the maxtrax and a winch w/pull pal should be good to go somehow. They also have to sand bags but you have to dig a hole and then fill it up and then dig again and fill it up again, sigh, I get tired of just typing it... LOL>.. but it's on the list too...

(Luckily, another TC was in the area and gratefully pulled me out...
Not sure Max would have helped but told they would...

My maxtrax are black. The color doesn't matter much but when you send them shooting under snow having a 6 foot ribbon lanyard makes them a heck of a lot easier to find..DAMHIK 🙂

The "type of plastic" used in the maxtrax is supposed to be better than the knock offs... no idea if that is b.s. or not.
If you spin your tires you'll melt the teeth off of any of them.
They're supposed to be UV stable (I live at 8000ft - lots of UV up here).

I did have a buddy snap a genuine maxtrax and they replaced it no questions asked.

I use a traction mat like this on my light off-road vehicle but have not had to use it on my truck camper. Mine unroll to 1'x3' and you can find these in 2-5' lengths.

I've been waiting to pull the cord on this kind of product as well.

The brand Maxsa makes a XL version of these type of traction mats that are actually wide enough to roll a set of dually's on.

All of them are subject to melting the pegs off with excessive wheel spin. Many of the lesser cost boards are also lesser quality and prone to simply breaking (easier) Also when shopping different vendors ensure comparing same board, most companys make a smaller length board.
But there are several companys that make a decent board costing a bit less than maxtrax. IF I were to spring for maxtrax Id go for the olive drab. Or grey or black- color wont help with retrieval (lanyard will) and I have no desire to look like rescue truck.

On a side note, I don’t know why those cost so much. There are traction mats etc for 1/10 to 1/6 the price or a different brand for half the price.

Yah, I was wondering that one too...

Apparently it's in the "Pegs".. I read somewhere, Off road reviews or something, that the pegs on the cheaper ones will 'Burn' off as the wheel turns... or melt or whatever... the gist of it, was they 'Might?' work for a one time recovery, depending on the degree of it.

The pros, as far as I've seen, all recommend the Max... I was just wondering how the Tred Pro matched up with them as they, the ones I was looking at, were more $$$... but sounded like the Max was the route to go. I have them on the Wish List... now in Pink, heheh...
Sigh, that should get their attention and 'Shaking heads as they're walking away.. LOL, funny..

Amazon has them in Pink, so you are set. The google description says orange makes them easy to find when they are completely buried although a long strap/leash of a bright color might have the same effect.

Yah, I've been looking at them too...

Also, I found the Tred Pro, seeing now close to same price, before or different model was more...

Not sure which was better... good reviews on Max...
Orange would be the color choice to not loose them... easy to see..

I'll be curious as to what the consensus is... not fun getting stuck..

ps. Pink would be a great color, ain't NO ONE gonna steal'em, hehehh..
