At least we have an idea of who is pushing up the price of new trucks.

We make around that much annually, and we have a 2014 RAM 2500 that we are keeping for a long time, and a 2016 Accord EX-L Nav (we have bought a new Accord EX-L Nav every two years since 2006).

We did put down a $1,000 deposit for a Tesla Model 3. That would replace the Accord, but I think the Model 3 might be too small for us.

Slightly old news, the second article about the Mercedes X-Class. Updated news since that article, it will defintely not be coming to the US. Preproduction deposits have been extraordinary in Australia. To the point they are taking the concept around the country

Kind of surprised that it's not a Suburban/Yukon/Escalade trio. Some gated community's don't even allow pickups.

I wouldn't live in a place like that. Usually not my type of people.

That part! The whole dynamic requires a high level of cookie cutter-ness. Could never do that.

X2...probably can't even keep their trailer at their house either. :B
Not my cup of tea either. That said your decision would make both parties happy.:W

That's the great thing about this Country (and Canada). We all can make Choices that suite us...for the most part.

Thanks!

I want to drive a truck for the room and amenities. Maybe I'll get an Escalade some day!

Back in September 1972 my bride and I drove one of these down HWY 101 from Vancouver BC to Los Angeles and back. Back when the average North American car was about 18 feet long.

Of all the cars and trucks that I have ever owned, and it's been a bunch, I think that the Suburban with the whistles and bells is the most comfortable and useful at any price.

I just don't feel comfortable driving a car, I guess because I have driven trucks for 35+ years. Cars are just to low to the ground. The only smallish vehicle I feel comfortable driving is my old Bronco but it still sits up off the ground like a truck. Also I could care less about gas mileage because I just don't drive that many miles a year.

My daily driver is a 12 yr old Ford 500 with 220K miles and counting. Comfortable big car ride at 26mpg. I don't know what I'm going to do when this thing dies.

I prefer not to use the truck as a DD.

Ya, there are a lot of great choices and options in between a small car and a truck.
