Moved Up to F350

Traded the diesel F250 for a diesel F350 yesterday. We were very pleased with both the discounts and the dealer is painting our tonneau cover to match the new truck and transferring the 50 gallon fuel tank we installed to replace the original tank on the F250. Seriously considered waiting for a 2017 but the deal was too good to pass up. Now we have to get 1000 miles on the new truck within two weeks as we have a major trip planned in July.

No specific reason other than wanting a new truck. LOL

We had discussed many times adding air bags or springs and waiting for the 2017's but then decided to check out the deals on the 2016's. It was simply too good a deal to pass up with about $11K in discounts and incentives as well as painting the tonneau cover to match the new truck and transferring the 50 gallon fuel tank to the new truck at no cost to us. Also the new truck has the exhaust brake.

I love new vehicles. At least I think I do. It's been a long time since I bought one. I priced them last month and they now cost more than twice what I paid for my first house.

I hope you have many care-free miles in your travels with your new truck.

So why did you trade? The SRW F250 and F350 are exactly the same except the springs and spring blocks. A 250 can be upgraded for not much money.

The F350 is SRW. Sorry if I misled anyone. As of today, I have about 700 miles on it. Can't wait for the 1000 miles so I can tow.

Maybe I missed it but where did he say it was a dually?

I wish my Dually rode as well as my F250. It's not even close, the ride on the DRW is ROUGH when unloaded.

I felt the same way when we went from the 250 to the 350 dually. Maybe it's the extra tires back there but it's a bit smoother to me. Love the 350 by the way.

We are up to 500 miles now so I expect the 1000 miles will be on soon. We are scheduled to leave two weeks from today for the big trip to Indiana and Michigan. The trailer is getting a repair done and need to get it home to determine if the hitch needs any adjustment before we leave.

I may be imagining this but the new truck seems to ride better than the 250 we traded. It is also easier to get in and out of it.

🙂 Hi, when I bought my new F-150, I had to park it and tow with my Lincoln, because I got it one day before our planned trip. It seemed like a life time to get the first one thousand miles for the differential break-in. After that, we were amazed at how fast the miles stacked up.

Enjoy your new truck.

I put 2900 miles on my f450 in the first 52 hours I owned it driving from Mobile Alabama to Seattle. So yeah...1000 mile in two weeks?...piece of cake! 😃

Wow that is a 55 MPH average if you talking 52 hours door to door.

In Sept we drove our new truck from John Elway's CDJR in Greeley, Co home 1400 miles in 48 hours door to door(noon to noon) an had receipts for two nights in motels. Chris
