Reason number one to have a truck camper, trailer towing ability.
Second reason number one, reliability of using your proven and known-condition truck instead of firing up a Class A (or whatever) that has been sitting for however-long and blindly trusting that nothing is wrong with it.
No other setup has two Reason Number Ones!

Oh, and also reason number one: diesel and 4WD!!

In my case however I would be pulling my trusty ole Jeep or a small enclosed utility trailer...

Probably the main reason I never got on the TC bandwagon was not being able to have a vehicle to do some running around after I have setup camp...

That is why you build one of these:

or tow one of these:

A truck with a camper on top and a boat behind... that's the biz right there.
Nice.

It's called a drift boat and is primarily used in rivers. It has a flat bottom for stability and upturned ends which allow it to be propelled sideways, frontwards or backwards and basically steered by the oars and or current.
This type of boat has its origins in the Pacific Northwest and are very stable.

I've lived up here since 1959 after moving up from the South Side Chicago. Funny how things as simple as a move, a career change or as stint in the military can change your entire direction in life.
I like living in Michigan, even winter here but it does seem to get a little colder each year. I retired after a 32 year career with AT&T....it's been OK.

Boy it sure does!! So I quit, and now don't have the "Moolah" to go where I want. Even though folks keep telling me where to go!!

Roy,
It only takes 10 minutes to unload and about 15 min. to load depending how good you are at backing up. Been doing it for 10 years.......
