New F250 Ford

I am going to look at a new 2017 Ford F250 XLT which is loaded. Has the 6.2L EFI eng V8. This is at a Ford Dealership. Does anyone have one? what is the good or bad? What would be a good price? I wanted a 2018 or order a 2019 but I can get this one for $40K I just wonder how it will perform compared to my F250 2003 with just over 100K with the V10 eng which I love

Dont want a diesel nor a 4x4. I have driven and owned two diesel P/Ups and one diesel car

You specifically asked about the gas truck.

When I was seeking advice on towing with the F150, I kept getting comments about getting a F250, even when the F150 was more than capable.

You should be able to get at least $10k off MSRP a new 2018 F250. I have heard no major problems with any of the current HD trucks. I would recommend the 4.xx axle with the gas engine vs. 3.73.

We have a 2016 F-250 with the 6.2 with 373 rear end. We just pulled our new 2018 Keystone Half Ton 30 RLS for the first time. Loved it plenty of power. Looking forward to our trip to the UP next month. I got 9.5 Mpg. Not bad I thought...

Not exactly a stretch to think a guy might want to freshen up from a 15-16 year old truck. Actually his way of thinking is probably why he can stroke a check for whatever he wants to buy.... and knows when it’s time to put sense before dollars.

Mine just arrived two weeks ago. Had to order to find the 4.30 axle and it has been widely recommended if you are towing much with it.

I haven't gotten to tow yet, Manual recommends 1,000 miles before hitching up. Very pleased with the 6.2 engine so far, Fuel economy should be comparable to the V10.

Good price would be as near invoice as you can get. And if the dealer will not tell you the invoice, you can find it by going to edmunds.com, kbb,com, nada.com.
And if rebates are available, the price should be below invoice.

we bought a 2017 f250 2wd crew cab 6.2 gasser 3.73 rear end last october. 8k plus miles on it now. 50 percent towing.

our TT is usually approx 7500lbs loaded to camp

overall i am 100 percent happy with it.

i bought a plain white XL model. im not a bells and whistle guy so i like the vinyl seats and floors, no carpet. it does have electric windows, locks and bluetooth connection.

if i would do anything different i would go with the 4.30 rear end for towing purposes but the 3.73 great for our towing weight. when i was looking there were zero 4.30 rear ends of dealership lots. they were mainly special order

I really like my F250 so far. It rides a bit rougher than the Silverado 2500hd I replaced it with but the cab is very quiet. I don’t know about the 2wd but the step in height of the 4wd is very high. Also, you might look for one with the 4.30 gears if you can find one.

If I were forced to replace my current 2014 F150 3.5L Ecoboost with HDPP, I would strongly look at a F250 with the 6.2L engine. If I ordered new either a F150 with HDPP or a F250 w/ 6.2L engine, the cost would be within a couple of hundred dollars of each other.

Good comparison here! The much improved 6-speed transmission is what you will notice most.
