Read TCM today,
Looks like Acrtic Fox is rolling out the all-new Wolf Creek 840 at the California RV Show in Pomona this October. Which is next week.
Looking forward to seeing what is different then the Wolf Creek 850.

If anything, producing this new model proves that the Wolf Creek line is selling well and has solidified a place in the Northwood Mfg. lineup. Not everyone wants to haul a $30,000, multiple slideout TC that weighs 4-5,000 lbs. The Wolf Creek TC caters perfectly to this crowd.

Northwood does help sponsor a ralley every year, plus there are several other Northwood owner ralleys at various locations across the US. You can join the Northwood Owners forum to get all the details.

I have a wolf creek 850 on order from the factory, but seriously considering changing my order to get the 840! Any suggestions and advice is greatly appreciated 🙂

Have the 2014 WC 850 short bed and can't wait to get out and use it again. I liked what TCM had to say about the panoramic view from the dining and kitchen area, privacy in the upper bunk if that's important. I do wonder about standing height in the bathroom but since the propane tank's are "under the sink" it would seem to be the same or better looking at the roof slant (that may be an optical illusion).

I do wonder if storage is the same……you are doing the longed version so you'd loose the Gen/Gen compartment. Does it have the same cabinets? The booth seems bigger or better shaped to me so that might be an improvement for your crew! I'd get the passenger side ward instead of night stand as that added storage (Thanks Mello Mike for that recommendation!!!!)

If you can contact TCM again and talk to them about their experience in the AF 865.

I personally didn't like this floor plan until I read this article, it has some benefits. would love to have had the opportunity to see the 850 and 840 side by side……but ordered mine sight unseen….after watching many online dealer and personal video's (way to many times 🙂 )and exchanging many emails with TCM. I think the 840 would have been on the drawing board at the time.

Hope that is helpful for your crew……can't wait to see your photos of the new set up whatever you choose.

P.S. Northwoods Mfg I hope you monitor this forum…..We need to have a Wolf Creek Ralley so we can all exchange information with each other and with Northwoods Mfg!! Anyone else game? (throwing it out there!)

Not a big fan of the one round sink in the Wolf Creek lineup. Everything else about the 840 looks really good.

I have never been in a Wolf Creek TC but I do own an Arctic Fox and love it. One thing I would look for in my next TC would be the rear kitchen set up and the mid bath. For us having the galley area towards the rear would just be better. That is what the new 840 offers so I think that would be the deal breaker for me.

Can't wait to get back to the mainland us from Hawaii, so i can get my TC.
Thanks for taking the time to give a great informational post.

Hi Scott,
You must be chomping at the bit to get to the mainland.
What are your current favorites for TC now? (Subject to change as the time gets closer of course.)

Thank you for the posted update on the WC840. I checked the Northwood website they still haven't updated the weights yet on the floor plans.
Great pictures. I guess we'll have to wait to see how it sells in the future. Where in so. cal are you living? I went to High School at John Burroughs in Burbank Ca. Won't say what years.

Hi, I am a new wolf creek 850 owner (2012 model) and live in so cal. Just stopped by family rv today after seeing the 840 off the freeway. Looks like it did not sell at the RV show. msrp is 26k. Some differences with the 840 I saw are the charging station in the cabover bed. Nice! no inside access to drivers side wheel wells from the inside of the camper. Access is from the outside compartment in the rear of the camper. LED lighting is nice, but they are the smaller bulbs not the flat panels like LEDRV sells and MelloMike installed on his wf850. There is access to plumbing and cabover wiring in the bathroom with access hatch which is nice. Stairs to bathroom are nice and I sm 6'1" and my head just barely touches the skylight. Also, water heater is electric and propane and no shoe storage in step to cabover bed (access to basement)

Charging station

Rear storage access to wheel wells, also roof rack is very small

Rear access also for dumping

Access in bathroom to plumbing and cabover wiring

Control panel, water heater has electric option...nice!!

Table is larger and only 1 leg instead of 2

Weight is 2348lbs

Looks like the WC840 has more grey water and less black than the WC850, about the same with FW including water heater. No specific weight information yet.
Standard features include:
35 Gal. Fresh Water incl. Water Heater
31 Gal. Grey Water
19 Gal. Black Water

Northwoods Mfg. has posted photography of the Wolf Creek 840 in the floor plan section.

Northwoods Mfg. Wolf Creek 840

Looks like it has a regular staircase up to the bathroom! Wonder how the headroom is in the bathroom, seems to be up higher than the WC850.

Why do manufacturers always do their photos on truck that you should never put the pictured camper on in the real world???? (My last truck was a Tundra, the long bed version has an even lower payload.)

Should be a pretty nice camper, almost looks like its in the same shell as the Wolf Creek 850 except the lengths are different. If I remember correctly Northwoods Mfg. promised TCM the exclusive....so there should be an article with photos next week. Looking forward to seeing what Northwoods Mfg. is up to when they roll this one out!

Thank you for the information. The WC840 looks a lot like the AF865 except the tank capacities and weight like you discribed. I guess AF wanted to just have slideout campers after 2012.
Looks like Northwood Mfg brought it back as a smaller version in the WC840.

Yes, agree with the step up bath. The only (Physical) Difference i can see in the brochure between the 840 and the 850 is no pantry for the 840. I do not believe the FW, Grey and Black tanks having more capacity than the 850.
Will have to wait for the data after the RV Show in Pomona.
