New Titan tank

Flashman

Had an extended replacement tank installed on my 3500 short bed 4x4 RAM. 32 gallon to 52 gallon - should give me more driving time before having to pull over and have more leisure find the best price on diesel.

The installation people tried to get a D&G tank but after 2 months they couldn't deliver so went with the Titan. Price was the same.

Someone is bound to say that, though. Happens every time. Figured I'd just gt it out there before someone who actually thinks it's not a good upgrade speaks up.

Congrats, ALL big pickups should come with big fuel tanks.

I just pack a full 5 when traveling. Needed it once.

If I do anything different it will be the 55g Titan.

Pulling into a rest stop to pee or a fuel center makes no difference. Getting out and walking around for a few minutes makes a big difference in my 7 or 10 hr drives.

It must be time to go, the suns out and I've got a full tank of diesel!
We have a granite fireplace hearth! Love to be a little different.

Not to mention if my truck gets down to a quarter of a tank, I start to panic!

I’ve heard the cost to fuel up argument so many times, now I just laugh inside and move on. Each mile costs the same.

You're right someone would've sooner or later. I've had my 50 gal in bed tank since 03. In the current truck that's 84 gals total which gives me quite a range.
I've never understood the argument that it costs so much to fill. You're going to buy so many gals of fuel it's a matter of how many times you need to fill

Well that's a waste of money and dumb! I have to pee before the 32gal tank gets to 1/4 full anyways. Can't understand why you'd want a bigger tank.
Worst part is, after paying for the new tank, they also cost more to fill up! It's a lose lose scenario!

I have a 52 gallon Titan in my Sierra. It has been in service for about 14 years now. Best investment I have done.

Congratulations! A fantasy of mine, but, we’ve been traveling so little the past 3 years......it was hard to justify! However, it would have been “VERY” welcome the past 2 weeks! A trip from hell! 🙂 memtb

That’s one concern I have for my next truck, biggest tank I can get from Ford is 48 gallons, since I will be getting a gas truck, my options are limited on what I can do. I have 75 gallons total capacity on my current truck and that’s about right for me.

For the Titan, Diesel version I believe I paid $1500 all in ... but really do not remember for sure.

What was the overall cost including install? I'm missing the 50 gal tank we had on our motorhome now that we're back to a truck... 36 gals is OK, but as you say, 50+ gives you options.

  • 2016 F-150 3.5L MaxTow (had Ram 2500 CTD, Dodge Durango)
  • 130W solar and 2005 Honda EU2000i twins that just won't quit

I had a Titan 51 on my list 2 trucks, they are great ! Just make sure the installer followed the proper torque requirements for the sending unit on top..... My 1st installer did not and every time I stopped I leaked diesel.. that was fixed the next day....
