Newbie Question

Newbie here...been lurking for awhile, but this is my first post. Hubby & I bought our first TT (used) about a month ago. We've been cleaning and fixing little things here and there in prep for a long trip next month, but I have a question that I haven't see addressed anywhere == I may have missed it though.

It may seem like a silly question, but what do you use to clean your toilet and sinks? I don't mean emptying the tanks, but actually cleaning. There is nothing noted in the owners manual. Is it OK to use regular household cleaners (Scrubbing Bubbles, Comet, etc). Is there something that needs to be avoided?

Thanks in advance --
Terri

I use one part blue Dawn, one part vinegar, and one part hot water. Never have to scrub...just let it sit for a while.

Thanks so much, everybody. I figured any non-scratch would work on the plastic. Since we live on a septic here at home, I didn't foresee any problems with any cleaner, but wanted some feedback. I appreciate it!

Kirkland bleach wipes - just one of many staples always stocked in our TT.

I use Scrubbing Bubbles most of the time but have used others when that is all that is available. If it comes in a plastic container I assume that it is safe to use on a plastic toilet.
For the sinks and counter top I use baby wipes.
We have a container of water on the picnic table with a spout on it so most hand washing is done outside when hands are really dirty. Sink does not get as dirty as it would if all hands were washed at it.

We use the same cleaners that we use in our home, no problems with our plastic toilet and plumbing.

Scrubbing bubbles works great, as well as soft scrub. Clorox or other wipes to disinfect. I use Murphy s Oil Soap to do the floors, or you could use any other cleaner - I just like how it smells.

I cant see nothing wrong with what you listed. Its just holding tanks not a septic system. But local laws may be different on what they accept in their dump sites. Have fun on your trip!

Congratulations on your new TT...Our TT has a porcelain toilet and the sinks are plastic. I do not use comet or Ajax, I use Clorox wipes during our campouts. For cleaning in between trips I use the spray foam scrubbing bubbles.

Have a great trip.
