When I was new to the ways of the world I worked in an auto wrecking yard that sold 'rerefined' oil that was pumped out of a drum. If the customer wanted 30W that was what he got. Jiffy Lube still does this. Many cars now require 5W20, however its still is not a standard bulk oil product at most locations. But pouring bottles takes more time. Ever hear Ford overhead cam with 10W-40 in it? It sounds like a diesel. One of my customers came in nearly crying because she thought her motor was going out. Nope. Turns out she just got Jiffy Lubed.
