Okay...someone tell me I'm not weird!!

Sometimes I worry about myself because my love of TTs seems a bit overboard. So, confession time...

I speed up when I see a TT on the road so I can get close and check it out.

When going camping, I seriously ENJOY setting up our TT and have been known to be a little disappointed when the TT doesn't need leveling. (My wife can't understand this.)

Part of the FUN of camping is walking around the CG and looking at other people's rigs.

I LOVE looking online at accessories for my TT.

I LOVE talking about TTs to anyone who will listen.

So someone PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one like this!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

My trailer is my playhouse, my getaway, my woman-cave. I'm obsessed with making little improvements and organizing. I have a complete kitchen in there, down to the stovetop waffle iron. The black tank was my biggest fear before we bought our little trailer, and now it doesn't worry me. Works great! Favorite thing to do after work is to go out to the trailer and hang out for a bit, maybe have a glass of wine. Best place to take a nap. If my husband can't find me in the house, he knows where to look!

I think we all share the obsession.

I do all the same exactly. Especially speeding up or slowing down on the FWY to check other TTs. I also take bike rides at camp to check out rigs, my favorite part of camping. I also spend hours while at camp tinkering on my rig.

JMHO.

It is amazing, but people just don't get it unless they have an RV. But you don't even have to ask when you camp in the infield of a NASCAR race - they all understand!

Guilty..When I open my web browser it is set up with the search engine and RV.NET.
We spent the weekend camping in the driveway when we brought her home.
We do a family walk down the road in the CG whenever we camp, talking and waving at fellow campers (I have yet to develop an "RV wave" like the Harley riders do though).

I always look for the AC unit, but we still like to check out the horse trailers. Far away Fiver's are a little trickier-look for the extended mirrors or the dually fenders!

How many of us have seen a trailer in the distance, drove like a maniac to catch up to it, only to be disappointed to find out is was a work trailer? In my area there are a lot of horse farms, so I end up seeing a lot of horse trailers on the roads.

How many of you can distinguish a 5th wheel from a travel trailer from a half mile away?

It's been fun to read the responses to my original post in this thread. I guess we're all here because we love TTs, RVing, camping and we see how it benefits our families and the relationships we hold most dear. Thanks for all the great comments. ๐Ÿ™‚

I love it too. Thought about how cool it would be to start a Travel Channel show about RV's and State Parks. Pick 2-3 state/national parks within each state and film the campground, RV's and attractions. I would definitely be hooked on that show. Kind of like diners, drive-ins and dives, but only with a camping theme. Shoot, you can even add in a camp recipe to each show.

This is a great idea! Don't be surprised if it's in the making right now. I'd be right along with you in watching this one.

Waaahaha - same here. And also, starting Thursday's in our area, I start counting the RV's on the road heading out of town. I count them through Sunday. Up to 26 sometimes by the end of Sunday. Makes me sick that I can't go right along with them in my rig.

When my son was a little younger I would even take him out to the camper to camp part of the weekend in the driveway. He enjoyed it very much and it was just plain "fun" even though we never left home. As I said earlier, if the RV helps you spend qaulity time with your family, then it was a wise choice. For me, my camper was purchased from my grandfather who was the original owner. It has sentimental value to me, beyond what it is worth. The fact that it still performs well after almost 45 years is just an added benefit.

Haha - we "camp" out in ours every Fri and Sat and if the grandkids are over, they sleep out in it with us. We're hooked up to power so we enjoy the TV, air if needed, and have even baked a pizza out there.

For those of you who love being at CGs because of all the RVs, are you typically open to people popping by to ask about your rig?

Our rig is so "generic" no one stops to ask about it, but they do stop and ask about the cat-porch attached to one window and our 4 cats.

My wife and I had just pulled back into our site in the Tetons last month when a couple that was walking started asking us some questions about our set up. I gladly engaged him (them) in conversation, and was glad they popped by. But I find myself second guessing myself when we're the ones walking as to whether I should strike up a conversation or not.

We just say "Hi" to those busy setting up, but will sometimes start a conversation with those sitting and relaxing outside their RVs. People, generally speaking, are nowhere near as friendly as they were back in the 50s, 60s and 70s. Maybe it's the age of the campers now. Maybe it's the more stressful life so many of us live now. Maybe campers just want peace and quiet more now.. I don't know. There was a thread on just this topic on one of the RV forums last year.

We don't go that far but always look at passing TTs, in our lane or the oncoming lanes. ๐Ÿ™‚

When going camping, I seriously ENJOY setting up our TT and have been known to be a little disappointed when the TT doesn't need leveling. (My wife can't understand this.)

My DH is starting to really dislike that part of setting up. He's happy as a clam at high tide when a site is level. I don't find leveling much fun either. But that's part of camping with a TT.

Part of the FUN of camping is walking around the CG and looking at other people's rigs.

Us too! ๐Ÿ™‚ Since we're into walking exercise we loop every CG we camp in several times a day - taking in all the other rigs and campsites. We stop and chat here and there with other campers. We also love to watch them all come in on Fridays, should we include a weekend in our camping trips. And it's fun watching some of them backing in..... ๐Ÿ˜‰

I LOVE looking online at accessories for my TT.
