I hate to admit that sometimes I overlook the obvious solutions. In a couple of weeks we are going to Turkey Run state park which has a nice area for Kayaks. We bought three 10' Kayaks from Menards this spring and are pretty excited about taking them out. I was going to borrow a 10 foot utility trailer from the in-laws. Build some racks out of wood to haul the kayaks on top and the bicycles on the bottom. Was telling my wife about all my grand plans and showing her my design for the racks when she ask "why not just take our trailer?". We have a small 12' single axle enclosed trailer.
Well duh, why didn't I think of that. I can just put everything inside and roll. No extra racks, or having to worry about things flying off going down the interstate.
Sometimes it takes a good woman to remind me to not make things so complicated.

I asked my 13 year old DGS a question or two about what do I tap on the screen to do what I want to do on my phone which he had never seen and he did some magic things and said, "GDude, technically you don't tap the screen, you touch and drag". Who knew.

It is clear to me that the reason we have grandchildren is so that they can explain our electronics to us! :S

I have my wife always standing by while I do things like this. With the cordless phone and 911 on speed dial. It helps the EMT's if someone actually eyewitnessed to tell what happened if I've lost consciousness and can't.

I agree on the importance of the DW. Since I have a keen eye for the obvious and still miss the obvious, I rely very much on my wife's attention to the details I overlook.

BTW, our enclosed trailer and canoe hauler is a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
