Ordered a new truck to haul TC today

2018 XLT F350 4x4 Crew Cab 8' Bed

Supposed to be here in 6-8 wks.

Going to add Torklift tiedowns.

Going to use the factory 3" hitch and fabricate an extension.

Got 5th wheel prep package and plan on using the factory installed bed plug.

Not going with adjustable Rancho 9000 shocks this time. I got them last time and they worked great on my first two srw trucks, but they were a huge improvement on our last drw truck.

No air bags this time, may try stable loads or go with Timbrens again this time.

Our 2006 F350 did a great job hauling our Lance. I can't believe we've had that truck 12 years.

Congratulations.
We also went kicking and screaming to an auto shift. but wow we have really gotten use to it and the 6.7 and transmission are an awesome combo. We still have and love our 2000 but when we pull a load with it we miss the power of the 6.7 for merging into traffic and the exhaust brake on the 6.7 is terrific.
You will really enjoy your new truck.

Good friend of mine just got his 2018 F350 DRW, and what shocked me, I never would have seen that comin because he had a Chevy and was always right in there smack talkin us lifer-Ford guys. He has an AF TC and absolutely loves it.

Diesel. If I could have gotten a V10 gasser, 4.30 gears and a 6spd manual tranny, I would have likely done that.

You are going to love the 6.7 and the tranny it is mated to. I find myself using the manual gear selector all the time in the hills. You do get to select which out of the 6 to use vs D, 1. 2. 3

On DEF when the light says under half full it will take almost a full cube to top it off. I go through about 2 in a normal year more if we are taking 2-3 thousand mile trips

at about 9000 miles you get a check coolant light. it wants you to use a test strip to check on the anti corrosion additive. You can reset the remider to another 9000 in the settings selection on the dash. You can also buy refresher from the net (motorcraft) for $19 that will give you another 30,000 miles out of your coolant once you get to the point that the test strips indicate the anti corrosion additive is weak.

Surprised you didn’t go for a F450 to get the bigger differential, tires and that shorter turning radius.

Thought about it. But the F450 was a bunch more money and I don't really need it with camper we have or will buy in the filter

the 350 will do the job just fine

Awesome, and congratulations!

Too bad the Torklift tiedowns I took off my 2010 F450 won’t work on your new truck. I’d give them to you just to get rid of them.

You’re going to love your new truck!
