Oregon Coast what is your must see???

So the wife and I are getting ready to take a nine day trip on the Oregon coast. We will be starting from Depot Bay for the first three days meeting up with sister and brother-in-law. Day trips from there are planned as far north as Tillamook. One of those days will be fishing out of Depot Bay on a charter. Then we will be heading south down the coast the next four days. The remaining days are travel days to and from. So what are your must see on the Oregon coast and a must do??? Thanks in advance for any and all of your tips and secret places that you are willing to share!!!!

Don't miss Kelley's Crabs in Brighton -- one of the best meals I ever had in my life. Not fancy -- you eat outside on a picnic table. Bring a sweater and an appetite. Make sure they recommend one of the local beers.

Take your time and stop at as many of the pull outs that you can.
Do a sandrail tour in Flourence and eat at the Spice restaurant in old Flourence.
I'm not a big fan of Mo's.
If you have a national park pass you pay half price for the national forest sites.
Both the state parks and the forest sites are great. I prefer the ones that are off the highway a way.
Have a beer a Bill's in Canon beach and at the Pelican on the coast hwy that runs past Sand lake to Tilimook.

+1 on cape perpetua and that section of the coast. State Campgrounds are best... Beachside campground is north of yachats, Beverly Beach north of Newport and Beachside campground just south of newport.

There is an RV park at the Newport Marina - and they have a dry camp/boondock area that is ~$20 per night. Within stumbling distance from the rogue ale brewery. Easy walking distance to Oregon Coast Aquarium.

I stopped at what is left of the tillamook air museum - not worth the visit any longer. More than half the building is now used for RV storage. They have less than 10 planes on display - and one is the fighter on static display at the entrance...

I knew it might be shutting down and was hoping to see it one more time - missed it...

Nehalem bay is a very nice place to camp and visit. Tillamook cheese factory was a major let down for us when we went last year.

Got to stop at Newport. Go to Bay Front. Eat chowder at Mo's. Visit the aquarium, Riplys Believe It Or not. Fly a kite. Buy a crab off the crab boat.

The Cape Perpetua aria south of Yachats is my favorite part of the coast. Lots of trails begin at the visitor center located next to a forest service campground. Make sure you drive or hike to the lookout on top of the Cape. See where I live?

We did a three week trip up and down the coast a few years ago. FWIW: We loved an hour at the Tillamook Cheese Factory whilst passing by and the ice cream and cheese we bought was a real treat. Cute little towns nice to sit and people watch for an hour here and there. One there had a wee young pup playing with a crab his owner hauled in on the dockboards that wrapped right around the quaint town (?Florence?). Mail boat ride up the Rogue River and the Sand Dune Buggy were the highlights of that part of the coast for us.

As a heads up, and I guess it depends but we felt that the Sealion Cave was for us the worst waste of our monies on that trip. State Parks if you can get in them on the coast we loved.

HA! Funny, I'm there right now as we speak, just out side of Tillamook at a place called Sand Lakes. It has a BIG campground, as well as a first-come-first-serve camping area. It is an ATV/ORV park, not a great place if you want peace and quite.

But a great place if you want to ride your toys... See pic in sig!

A few hundred miles....LOL And BTW, the Hoh Forest is eerie...and is the only forest that has made me actually think there COULD be a Bigfoot hiding in those woods!!!

Thank you guys and gals so much for all the places listed. I love the few hidden ones and will definitely be checking them out! I will do my best to post a trip report as we go. As for reservation's we will be going in a week and most all places called have tons of spaces, still a little early for crowds. I booked a few spots but left a few nights open to give us flexibility and spontaneous trip. I did book a night at Turtle Rock Resort in gold beach. They have spots with your own private hot tub at the site, booked one of those for the end of the trip. Once again thanks everyone

If you're wanting a short hike, Drift Creek Falls is really cool. It's located a few miles SE of Lincoln City and only 1.25 miles of easy trail to a suspension bridge.



Directions.

EDIT: I meant SE of Lincoln City. SW would be pretty wet!
