Our new trailer is junk.....

I am really starting to regret buying our 2016 Cruiser MPG 2400BH. This trailer has been a POS from day one. I really love the look and the options but at what point do I quit finding issues... To start things off the electrical system was riddled with bad connections which I ended up fixing myself. We are talking issues that would have caused the unit to potentially catch fire if left unnoticed. I have no idea how it even got through inspection. Next was the spring perches.... I wouldn't have even noticed this issue if I hadn't been under the trailer running wiring for my inverter. All of the spring perches were welded onto the frame on an angle. The drivers side all leaning toward the outside and the passenger side all leaning inward putting all sorts of sideways strain on the suspension. Next issue was the front cap which started to pull away from the trailer leaving the siding exposed to the elements after only two weeks of use. I won't even get into the stupid fit and finish issues which I see on all new units..
Fast forward to now.... The trailer has been in the shop since the beginning of Sept, and it is still not fixed. Just got off the phone with the service dept and they say they have done quite a few repairs but have run into an issue. They believe the trailer has deeper issues which have caused the trim to pull away and also cause the front cap to shift. So now they are at a stand still and tell me the trailer needs to be returned to the manufacturer in Indiana, however they still haven't got any approval from the factory.
I am told that the quickest turnaround I could expect once the trailer is sent in would be minimum 2 months but realistically it would be longer with the upcoming holiday season.
I have asked that the trailer be replaced with a new one but we will see where that goes...

Anyone else dealt with similar issues? I would love to hear what you have done to resolve them.

Thanks

Go over their heads and correspond to the manufacturer with a CC to the dealer. This is where it's crucial to have an independent inspections(s) complete with photos from a reputable & qualified RV tech. and/or frame shop. Also document any steps the dealer or manufacturer take to remedy anything. Take photos of the work the dealer does, esp. with the cap pulled off. You also need to find our who to send a complaint to at the manufacturer so it doesn't sit with some low level person.

Your TT is under warranty and should not be depreciated whatsoever. I have heard of a number of TTs being replaced with complete new units due to serious issues like yours.

I don't know much about Cruiser TTs. If they have a forum for that brand (Fun Finder forum?) post your issues along with photos. The manufacturer won't want the bad publicity.

Probably about time to sent the owner of the dealership a written list of your concerns/demands on an attorney's letterhead. Would be worth the cost at this point to make sure they know you are serious.

Go to the dealer owner, or at least manager if it is a chain. Don't wait for the sales rep to help you out, just go and do it.

You can also do some googling around and find the head honchos of your trailer brand, and send them a letter directly.

Wow, stand firm. Be polite, but firm. No way no how would I accept an $8,000 hit, or any hit for that matter on a brand new trailer that clearly has a bunch of factory defects.

I'm actually suprised the oem would not want to get you out of that rig and get you another one. I'd be embarrassed to have a product out there like that with my name on.

I don't see how the dealership could take much of a hit on replacing your trailer with an alike model. The factory and dealership have to work out about the $$$, not the customer.
I definitely wouldn't keep what you have. There may be issues with the frame and/or body being out of square and not plumb. That problem could cause more repairs down the road.

Ok, now I am getting annoyed and angry dealing with this... Got the call from the dealership today as they said they would, but not from the manager.... again.... Sales rep tried to convince me that taking a hit of $5,000 for depreciation on our trailer plus the difference on the new trailer, around $3,000 along with what sounded like no compensation for my solar system, inverter or any extras that I had installed in our trailer was a good deal, and that he recommended it........ Really!!! Like I should be happy to take a hit on a trailer that I had exactly 12 days of actual use of!!! Give me a break.

I am not accepting this, and will accept nothing more than a replacement at no cost to us.

Stay tuned.

Well... Spent 4 hrs at the dealership this afternoon and so far we have not come to an agreement. All of a sudden the manufacturer wants to go ahead with letting the dealer do the repairs, however I did not agree to anything as of yet. Of course they are now pushing to have the trailer repaired and insist the repairs will be better than factory. They also said the option to move into another trailer was still on the table if I wanted out of our current trailer. Here is where I had to keep my cool, all of a sudden they want me to agree to a depreciated value on my trailer on a trade in, Not likely.... Apparently I am supposed to care that they will have to take a loss on my trailer on resale because they are apparantly stuck with the repairs.. Basically I told them that they could go after the manufacturer for losses and I would not agree to anything less than a equal trade. Long story short the manager managed to evade talking to me and now I have to wait untill tomorrow for another call with their offer.

Got a call from the dealership this evening which hopefully leads to some good news. After yesterdays call the service dept has forwarded my issues up the ladder to management. Apparently one of the managers had a look at the trailer and basically said the thing is unacceptable and that he agrees that we should not have to deal with it, especially with the short time we have owned it. The factory still has not made any attempt to rectify the situation and has only requested more pictures. The dealership apparently is not satisfied with their response and it sounds like they may replace our trailer with something else.
Of course nothing is in writing and I won't know anything until tomorrow when the manager is supposed to contact me with his resolve or offer.

I will keep you posted on how it plays out... my fingers are crossed that I can wash my hands of this POS.
I think you should give this dealer some kudos by mentioning them by name. Not many would do this. Hope they actually do, and things work out for you.

That is very shoddy construction. I'd be livid. Stand firm. I think those issues on a brand new rig warrant a new replacement camper. Were they drunk when it was built? Horrible. I hope they make it right for you

I wonder if by any chance this trailer was laid over on its side! With the wall damage and the fact both spring perches are laid over in the same direction! That shows a lot of side force on the axles!

It would sort of suggest that. When we found out about ours that were similar, someone suggested maybe the delivery guy did donuts in a parking lot somewhere. Then I looked at a bunch of TTs and FWs from the same manufacturer on our dealer's lot and found the same bent spring hangers. No idea what KZ did about them, but I can only guess.

Along wit a few other alignment issues I came to a simalar conclusion. I truly believe that the trailer may have had a hard side impact while in transit somewhere.
