Well our '07 Cherokee was totaled due to hail. A smart man would have taken the money and ran, but we decided to upgrade to this. Curious about torsion axles but at least the trailer is light...and has more options.

You can lift torsion axle trailers. A good frame shop can a weld some flat steel to the side of the frame, or box steel under the frame to raise it. A lot of folks have done that to older Trailmanors so they could mount 15" wheels/tires and improve their clearance.

But then you'll probably need another step getting in ...

There is a thread somewhere that shows how to make the necessary brackets to raise the axle. Apparently, Jayco actually paid to have some of the JayFeathers raise up after owners had clearance problems. We saw a raised one in Florida one winter, and in addition to have to replace the single step with a two step unit, they had to change out the stabilizer jacks .....

That's I nice looking trailer - we were eying those up at the local dealer before we found our current rig ....

only thing with torsion axles is that they have to be level becouse there is no equalizer in the system. other than that they seem to work well. had a customer run that at full load for well over 100k miles. only problem was when they towed it off level due to swapping between their various trucks it would eat tires.

Love the way the new rigs are coming with the black trim instead of white...since it was gonna turn black or fade anyway! ๐Ÿ™‚
