Kudos to you, but many are not as considerate -apparently a LOT are not as considerate (or aware) based on the volume of cautionary posts here.

Depends.

In a crowded camp ground, no they aren't.

But after an afternoon football game in the stadium, sometimes it nice to relax outside the RV and catch another game on the TV with friends.

I really like the IDEA of out side speakers. We haven't decided yet on "more holes in the hull" of the camper, mounted speakers.
An outlet to plug in wires from speakers in one of the hatches or use some wireless speakers?

If we're camping near others, near being a relative term, if we can hear generators running we are WAY too near, NO use...... enough said?

We generally "camp" traveling 50% of the time. Using our traveling hotel room to camp at truck stops, hospitals, police departments, fire halls etc.
Urban stealth camping of course: black out conditions like 1942...or rather from what I've read about those conditions ๐Ÿ™‚
Once again no use for speakers.

30% use at ski area parking lots... Rock on speakers, if one can hear our music over the snow cats, snow plows, other parking lot partiers and usually a bar we'll gladly turn it down and apologize profusely.

10% visiting beautiful places, LOVE the sound of nothing... no use for speakers.

10% screwing around with buddies in the woods....MILES from our neighbor that own the land we are shooting on, riding all over the place day and night, building huge tree slag pile bonfires and generally being 45 year old punks for a few days each year. Sorry mister grizzly bear, sorry mister lynx, sorry woodsy the owl but we will only be here long enough to spay a few thousand acres of noxious weeds have some fun making too much noise to be any good for any one.... speakers yes please.

Maybe because they are trying to persuade him to a different route in the event that he's camping next to them:)

The unused mounted speakers look cool on the TT, though, if that means anything.

x2. There's virtually no bass in outside speakers. We use an XM boom box. Unlimited music styles, plus you can use a 3.5 patch cord and play music from your phone, Mp3, Ipod, etc. We can set the boombox right beside us so no one else is bothered.

A boom box is the bottom-feeder of all stereos and for the same money and a little DIY, you can do a lot better! A set of Polk Atrium speakers are easy to mount, of high quality, MilSpec waterproof, and proven. We have two sets, one at home, and one for "the road", running off a Optima Blue-Top house battery:

Just made the leap from our HTT to a Rockwood Ultra Lite 2604 and have outside speakers for the first time. Ours are mounted up high under the awning. We make it a point to be very, very aware of just how loud the speakers are. Normally, our chairs are closeby, so no problem, but the rest of the world may not enjoy our John Fogerty like we do. Can't think of anything more annoying than listening to someone blaring their speakers.....kinda like the guy in the car next to you that has the bass cranked up.....UGH!

I have exterior factory installed speakers on our WhiteHawk. They work, but are nothing to write home about from an audio quality standpoint, and I don't use them.

I would suspect installing them aftermarket would be quite a job, especially if you want to route the speaker wiring back to your trailer's entertainment system. Think Pap Pappy's suggestion about routing wiring to an exterior compartment that would allow you to plug in speakers for use when desired might be a good plan.

I suppose you can find wireless speakers at WALMART then you wouldn't have to worry about mounting outside speakers to the trailer.

I have one of those CC CRANE wireless tranmitters that you can just plug into any phone jack and it will transmit the sereo audio out to any portable FM radio you might have. That works out pretty neat...

I have a bunch of ham radio things going on inside and like to listen in sometimes sitting outside. Pretty neat for that...

We always have a portable type FM radio going listening to good ole country music when we sit outside...

That is a CC CRANE AM/FM Radio as well. They sure don't come cheap however but are the best sounding portable I have found...

I will occasionally hookup a two port cable splitter with a short cable to the camp ground pedestal cable connection. Run one connection to the trailer cable hookup and run the other cable connection to a long cable that goes under the trailer and can be used in the patio area for outside TV setup.. Sometimes its nice to watch something of interest sitting around the firepit...

With smart phones, blue tooth, pandora and Jambox portable speakers, for me no need for outside speakers. Great sound and it doesn't carry so no annoying the neighbors. I was going to replace the crappy concertone in the trailer but this solves that problem also.

Might be a lot easier to just get yourself a "Boom Box", and put it where you want it. It would also allow you to control it right there at the picnic table:)

I always wanted them and finally got them on my new TT. I don't play them that often, and not real loud. It's good if you are having people over to eat or hang out. I do the same thing at home.
