Anyone have experience with ram's perforated leather seats? - the ones with air conditioning. I found a 2014 1500 with these and am wondering how the holes affect the longevity.
Thanks much.

Confused about your question.
"can't get a 6 seat Longhorn":h Yeah, I'm confused also unless he means you can't get a 6 passenger Longhorn...if so, the Laramie I had wasn't a "6 seat" either....but not sure what is being said.
My guess is that he is referrring to the fact that you have to go with the front bucket seats with the center console in the Longhorn - you can't get the 40/20/40 folding seats.
That is the reason my BIL went with a Laramie instead of the Longhorn.
And, as others have said, the Longhorn leather is a significant upgrade over the standard Laramie. Go take a look at one and you will understand.

A lot! First thing my wife said when we compared a Laramie to a Longhorn. The Laramie is much more vinyl like, while the Longhorn is heavier, much better quality of "leather" . Much better in the Longhorn.
You are right about the 6 person seating though. NA in Longhorn.
Having owned both Laramie and Longhorn, the quality of the leather in the Longhorn is better. In fact, on each seat in the Longhorn you have a tag stating how to care for the leather and what kind of leather it is....it is a high quality of leather.....I actually thought I heard a "moo" once when I set down a little harder on my seat than normal:B

I don't know about the Dodges, but my Lincoln has an electronic device that actually makes heat and cold air. It works similar to those battery powered ice chests.

The seats in the ram are not air conditioned, just ventilated, and it pulls air through the seat not blowing out. Put a pice of paper on it and turn it on you'll see. It's a great fart extractor!
I knew we could not make it without one fart reference. ;). And yes as others have said they work nice in the summer and my little ones have not made enough mess to screw up the holes. I'd go for it and not worry.

YES. They are air conditioned!!!!!
3.5 years and no problems. 15 LongHorn on order will have them.
I have the same seats, the drivers seat is becoming separated from whatever its attached to , big bubble in the center of the bottom seat, passenger side the front attachment will not stay attached ,if someone is riding with shorts on it rubs the heck out of the back of their legs, two trips to the dealer for that one still no solution. What it ends up to be is that they either replace the bottom portion or I can take it to a upholstery shop ,and have it hog ringed. New drivers seat on order still waiting. Drivers side rear seat side attachment comes loose, same attachment problem as the passenger front seat, it has been pushed back into place so far so good.
Overall very poor seat construction. Very well documented on the Cummins Forum about the attachment on the front of the seats, this is not an isolated problem. The heated portion is almost undetectable on the low setting ,high setting is somewhat better, no where near the comfort level from our other vehicles , this is also another complaint on the Cummins forum.
But heck so far no problem with the passenger rear side, time will tell.
Here's another video on the seats in these trucks...

Ventilated not Air Conditioned, the seats draw in the air, giving a cooling sensation. I do believe expensive luxury cars do have true air conditioning. Anyway that was how the Ram dealer explained them to me
