Pics of new Ram 3500 SRW

I picked up my new 2015 Ram 3500 SRW yesterday morning that I ordered. It started to rain as soon as we got to the dealer and pretty much rained until early evening today. Once the roads dried I headed straight to the car wash and did a quick cleaning by hand. The color is Maximum Steel which looks awesome in sunlight but these pics are overcast and in the evening.

So far I love the truck and it's amazing how much has changed since my 2006. Got nerf bars, floor mats, and mud flaps on order and Line-X coming in a week. Can't wait to pull with this.

I went with the 20" rims as I liked them better than the standard 18" ones.

The LCD on the dashboard is completely customizeable.

The 8.4" UConnect is also really nice.

I got the cargo and backup cameras.

Do you know if Ram/Cummins finally fixed the BS fake oil gauge that started in 2003? If not, why put fake oil pressure on the EVIC. (based on 35 psi with an oil temp of 183ยฐ and coolant at 176ยฐ I am guessing it's still fake :M)

EVIC oil pressure gauge is definitely not fake on my 2014 2500. Its a constant real time feed.

A Real "Cowboy Cadillac"! Beautiful......But that 06 you had is the best Dodge truck ever made! Hope they gave you a ton of money for it.....

Well the 06 still ran well at 135K but was showing its age with rust through paint in wheel wells plus a lot underneath from all the brine they put on roads. Plus tach didn't work, heat wouldn't blow on floor, tires at EOL, hail damage, and body damage from lady hitting me in mall. I pocketed the money from insurance claims and dealer gave me only $14,000 less in trade-than I paid 9 years ago plus $9000 off MSRP. I could have got more off MSRP, but since they gave me $4000 above average trade-in, it would have been just shifting the numbers.

Now this 2015 is leaps ahead of the 2006 in technology and I'm already loving the truck. First 250 miles at I'm at 18 MPG on the lie-o-meter which I'm hoping is pretty accurate. Hand calculated I was getting 16-17 with my 06.

Do you get a complimentary subscription to Sirius/XM for a time as part of the purchase?

Lots o' information on that dash display. Is it a 787 Dreamliner or a truck?

Yes I got 12 months free SiriusXM all access and when activating they offered me months 12-24 for $110. So 24 months for $110 isn't bad.

I know, I was telling you what an ISB runs as your numbers to still be fake numbers. ISB's run different oil pressure than that.

The trucks without real oil pressure gauges still have the gauge move, just based on an algorithm and not actual pressure.

I had a 2006 Ram 3500, and honestly do not recall details about the oil pressure gauge on that one.

Now on my new Ram (2014 Cummins/Aisin to save reading time) my gauges seem to work just fine. Oil pressure changes as vehicle warms up. Runs in the 50 PSI range when cruising on highway warm, and will usually go down to the low 30's when idling warm. Cold start pressure is higher than the 30 something PSI at warm idle, possibly in the 50PSI range, but right now I do not recall what it shows.

So it is not a constant number.

On the 06 the gauge moved, but it was all based on an algorithm. The only thing on the block was a 6 psi switch.

Based on those pressures you are seeing it doesn't appear to have changed. Why they go to the trouble of having two oil pressure readouts that are fake is beyond me.

Warm idle should be 15-20, cruising will be 60-65 and 55-65 towing. It may drop to 45-50 towing heavy up a grade. Cold pressure should peak around 85.

Aisin or 68RFE?

68RFE and definelty a different feel from my 48RE. I don't have a need for the HO Cummins which includes the Aisin and since it's my daily driver, the 3.42 should help with mileage.

Beautiful truck.

All SRW's have 3.42's regardless of transmission.

Did you get the air suspension?
