Often times, one struggles to get photos of our Truck Campers uploaded onto this Forum. Couldn't there be a simpler way of accomplishing this? Well, there is and a Moderator scored in creating just the tool we can use. That way the pic we load is done quickly. Below is what 1492 posted;

If you're still struggling to post photos in the forums, I've written a minimalistic webpage app that should make it quick & easy. Just drag-n-drop a photo from your desktop/notebook computer, and copy-n-paste the returned image code into your forum post.

Basically, it auto uploads to the free hosting site IMGUR.com. Resizes your photo to the max recommended by the forums. Provides a preview thumbnail, and option to permanently delete the photo from the servers.

You can find the latest link for the web app here.

The one in the earlier photo, and this one, is my second BMW GS1200R Adventure, a 2012. Previous one was a 2008 BMW GS1200R Adventure.

Real backcountry Adventure riders don't use any stinking kickstands . . . when playing in Mother Nature's Sandbox.

It has been wonderful to spend the last 5 months living and exploring a land devoid, or seriously limited, of trees. But with all great things, eventually things need to change and am now leaving the desert environment for the mountains and the sweet smell of Pine. Just don’t judge me that I drag my boots, a bit, as I leave the desert. Pointing the Truck Camper toward the mountains full of trees.

When winter begins anew, I’ll return.

Now that's nice. And I like that bike. I would be reluctant to leave too.

If you're not getting a response from either drag and drop or from select button, then Javascript is not enabled or being blocked? Or possibly using an unsupported mobile browser?

This web app is not intended for those with image hosting accounts, which does have the distinct advantage of allowing one to manage photos from one central site. But you also don't have to determine whether your photo is sized correctly for the forums max 640x480 or 480x640, and thus have to resort to using switches to adjust the display size. Which does nothing to change file size itself and can waste unnecessary data bandwidth for those of us on mobile connections.

Not to mention that IMGUR servers are very fast, as it take me about 6-7 secs using the web app to upload a typical photo, resize a smaller copy at 640x480, and provide a forum specific copy & space link. And you can always bookmark the delete link should you ever want it permanently removed from the server.

So easy a caveman can do it...
umm is something supposed to happen?
Drag & drop no response- i see no link generated
select file- no response.

Though I can see as an advantage for 1 time posts-needing to upload-cant say I see the advantage for folks not getting their own account somewhere for picture storage.
Im in the shop- on an old Desktop-vista, though I saw desktop/notebook, are there some other restrictions-or do I really need to evolve a bit..
Mostly out of curiousity to see work-I think its great that you went to the effort 1492.

It's fixed. Posted from my iPhone.

So Apple mobile iOS users will have to "Select All" and "Copy" the forum photo link, then paste into your post.

Thanks, I was using photobucket with only 10% storage left. It looks like this is unlimited? My iphone 5 will let me copy the img link, but cannot paste it, clicked on full size image and had to copy address bar.

You definitely don't want to use the full size link in the forums without adjusting display width. I'll have a fix soon.

The Mods know this story, but the funny thing is I actually reserved a Ford Focus. When I got to the rental counter @1AM,
all cars were gone, so was sent to another affiliated rental firm. They only had Chrylser minvans, and luck would have it that
when I went to pick it up, there was just an empty space - like Steve Martin in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. :S So they gave
me the last remaining convertible for the same rate as the Focus. 🙂
