Facts are Facts! Simply research it and learn! Think about the terrible resale value or trade in value you will be left with even after having spent huge dollars over the years to have even kept the FCA vehicle running as proven by the decades of the automotive repair industry documented reports. A double whammy on your wallet and do logical thinking buyers really feel that's OK or great?

Interesting that you claim such great weather in the PNW USA and never mention they very high number of days of rain and altitude highway travel for so many mandating chains on in winter. Yes, we have been there many times so don't make stupid statements.

Putting it to a proper perspective: There ins't squat for the percentage of the USA population that live in the PNW. Maybe 20 million people out of the 330,000,000 that live in the USA and yet you think like so many out there that what works where you live will work with ~7% of the nation's population can speak for and tell the other 93% of the nation's population what's best. Some news for you: It ain't squat in actual reality! There's a reason and/or reasons why only ~7% of the USA population chooses to live in the PNW! The cropped tail trying to wag the dog!

Hey nutz, is my truck eligible for a buyback? I kinda like it and it runs good and all, but I'm not above letting it go for a new one. Sadly I'd buy another RAM....that is until GM one ups Ram and makes a Duramax mega cab long bed!
Seriously, love the Dmax/Alli combo. Currently the longest running, least changes drivetrain in the light duty diesel market....for a reason.

I would just suggest you don't buy a Chrysler product, that way you can live a longer healthier life and not have blood pressure issues due to the vehicle parked in your driveway!

Cracking I/P's is far from only being it Arizona as in just going to used vehicle lots here in Michigan will render a lot of cracked Chrysler FCA vehicles with cracked I/P's. Seldom ever see other vehicle brands with any cracks. Sun and heat here in the Mid west is/gives 20 to 30+ degrees F cooler than in Arizona in spring, summer, and fall!

Amazing isn't it....
Those that don't get out much don't see the different effects the environment has in different climates.
Up north and back east salt/mag/calcium eat vehicles for breakfast. In the hot n sunny states, batteries die, the dash cracks, seats fade and paint burns off. Up here they grow a nice protective coat of moss, lol.

FWIW, having lived in most areas/climates in the US at some point, I believe the PNW actually has about the best conditions for longevity of vehicles. Mild temps = easy on batteries and other mechanical components that are affected by temperature extremes.
Relatively little direct sunlight = about the least amount of UV damage anywhere I've been. And rain all the time keeps the undercarriages clean, rinsed and very little buildup of road grime/silt etc = less rust on the body panels and chassis.
As long as the roof or windows don't leak you're good!

I've spent the last 10 years traveling the Western US for work. I NEVER saw rust. Last year, my territory changed and I picked up some upper mid-west (Dakota's, Nebraska, Iowa). Now I see rust on vehicles ALL the time. And it doesn't matter the brand.

Last year I was looking to pick up a full size SUV. I almost bought a Escalade in Iowa. It was a 2013, with 60,000 miles. Exterior looked flawless, interior was well taken care of. Then I looked under it and saw all the rust.

Nutz, don't tell me that any one manufacture is better than another. They all rust in the wrong conditions.

HMMMM My 98 with nearly 400K has the original dash and is in perfect condition.

Cracking dashboards were a very common problem for the 02-05 Rams. I know because I had one myself. My 02 started to crack within 3 years of owning it. Even though it was a well known and prevalent problem, Dodge never issued a recall. With the 2006 refresh, the dashboards were changed. The dash in my 2008 has never been covered or protected in any way and it has yet to crack. So I guess they got it all figured out eventually.
