2012 Dodge 3500 4x4 with cummins diesel. Got letter and called to check on offer can buy extended warranty thru 2019 or 85,000 mile for $2,410.00 I have 30,000 miles currently on truck no problems not sure what I want to do but offer ends on the 26th. I know truck has 100,000 warranty on motor and powertrain also if you dont use extended warranty full $2,410.00 is refunded. So Ram is betting that I will use the warranty but cost to them less than $2,410.00. Just not sure that I will have repairs amounting to more than $2,410.00 before waranty would run out. Any thoughts

Shop around. There was a Chrysler dealer selling authentic Chrysler warranties for much less than Chrysler wanted.
It was Michael Case

I have no affiliation with them other than they gave me a much better deal than Chryysler. They also gave me 12 months to pay with no interest.
Let me know if it works out for you

I would call Chrysler yourself, Chrysler. Did you call Chrysler about the warranty or a third party? We bought the Maxcare warranty on our van which covers it for the time we own it, no mileage limit. I don't think it was offered on my truck like that.

Just bought the 2014 Ram 3500 dually CTD. Everything is electronic on it and run through the Evic. After having it for a week and having a tire monitor go bad I realized the Mopar extended was the way to go. Understand I NEVER buy extended warranties. I shopped around on the internet and purchased a 100k 5 year 0 deductible for just under 2k from the Ziegler auto group.
We'll see if it was money well spent. I actually hope not!

I will only comment on our experience. Bought the used Ram in my signature in 2006. Had 12,000 miles on the clock. Got the dealer to include an extended warranty of 7 years or 70,000 miles. Never had a problem with the truck at all, during that time.

Now with over 130,000 only two items replaced: water pump, and idler pulley.

This has been the most reliable and overall, the best truck I have EVER OWNED.

This is from a die hard, lifetime Chevy man.

Would I buy a extended warranty? Not with a truck as reliable as this.

Sounds like a lot of money upfront. I might consider it for a substantially lower price. With modern electronics in EVERYTHING on that truck, it can be expensive if you have to cover something out of pocket. $2400 is a lot of money considering you already have a powertrain warranty though.

See if they will work with you on the price and then consider it.

It is called max care and I have the money back guarantee and details on my e-mail. If you use it at all no refund.

I bought the warranty for my 2011. My way of thinking is with all the electronics on the new vehicles it was worth the bumper to bumper with no deduction. I didn't get the deal of if not used you get it back, hadn't heard of that one.

I've never heard of that before, but think it through. You already have 100k warrantee on the power train. Other than power train issues, do you think you will need a 2400 repair?? What if you make a warrantee claim for $500. Do they then not refund any of the 2400 or do they refund the difference. Most extended warrantees benefit the manufacturer of dealer, not the consumer.

They will refund the cost of the warranty if you don't use it? I have never heard of that before, wow!
